Not El K, but I for once quite enjoyed it. :D
Don't understand why people keep saying he's the GOAT.
He's great on the track, but his road records are significantly off, compared to Mo's smooth transition.
Apart from that, he also doesn't have a double-double, which means he's not as consistent as Mo.
I am not even a fan of Mo, but I would put him higher than Bekele.
Mo ran 2:08, 2:06, 2:05 in his first three marathons. Bekele did 2:05, 2:05, DNF, 2:06, 2:03. I think Mo is much better than some are putting him here (I mean I'm sure he would have won Paris 2012 for example), but to compare him with Kenenisa is a joke. If you count everything together it's not even close and it still won't be close if Bekele finishes his career today and Mo wins a medal at Tokyo 2020 marathon.
You realized of course, the 2:06 was run in a very warm weather, off a suicidal pace, and that's the first marathon he ran after he quit track. And that 2:08 was done while he's still doing track. I won't read into it too much.
When he finally got a chance to run in a good condition, he dropped a 2:05 with ease and got one WMM win.
