I ran the race. Allie Kieffer passed me right before the climb at mile 8 and put some serious ground on everyone in that pace range in the last 5 miles.
I think it probably was a workout where she ran maybe the first 8-10k “relaxed” or “marathon pace” and then switched over to hammering. Her progression run is not as clear when you see the splits from the race because the second half of the course is way more challenging and the 20k split marker was about 20 seconds late on the course.
If Kellyn Taylor can run 2:24 at Grandma’s, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Allie run a similar time on a fast course. But for NYC- I think anything 2:27 or better would be a great result.

No, it wasn't a workout, it was a race! I was there as well, she was working hard the whole way and Brad made sure to say "workout", for all of the suckers like you with no brain.
