I never said she was tired, go check - that was not my post.
I think you read this post
"Totally agree with that statement.
My one worry is the number of hard efforts Tuohy may do this season. The only time I saw Tuohy "bent-over" tired last year was after the amazing indoor 5000 meter race in Virginia (15:37) and two weeks later she got beat by three girls at the Millrose Mile. Maybe she is human.
She did an announced fartlek workout at Section 1 Coaches XC meet last year at Bowdoin Park (17:28). A number of coaches watched and she did do a fartlek workout. Her overall pace was 12 seconds per mile slower than her course record time at Bowdoin a few weeks later (16:52) which made it one heck of a workout. Counting that meet this year, she will be running Bowdoin at least three more times this season (Section 1 Championship, NY Federations) and maybe NXR. One of those is meant to break the Bowdoin record again. Also expected is an all-out effort at Sunken Meadow at State Championships.
Tuohy expended some effort at both Holmdel Park (16:21) and Rhode Island (16:06). In her MileSplit interview after Holmdel, she said Bowdoin is a harder course than Holmdel and that her level of effort was the same at Holmdel as it was in Rhode Island. Some coaches think Sunken Meadow is harder than Bowdoin. Worried about too many hard efforts and any national race."
