How fast did the boys run?
agree, too much speculating on things with very little "in the know".

Tuohy broke the Bowdoin Park record in a workout effort of 17:10 and then ran 16:52 all-out. How fast does this young lady run in workouts?
Don't know about Cuffe's effort when she set the Sunken Meadow record at Foot Locker qualifiers (didn't see it), but I know Cheserek's Sunken Meadow course record of 15:20 had him coasting the last part of race.
Workout? Total BS. You guys are getting carried away. Everything is a workout, hardly an effort. Yes, I've been running for years, went to State, broke 3 hours as a 15 year old, blah, blah, blah, blaaaaaaaaah! Aka, I've been around the block. Workout Schmurkout! BS.
I think it is a published fact this was going to be a workout.

It's miserable out there right now. Cold, rainy and windy.
Jog an 18:00, get the win by a minute instead of two, and learn the course, which from what they said was the plan for this weekend anyway.
Come back for the course record at States.
There's no need for heroics today.
*State meet
You're kidding, right?
You actually spent time to post that? lol
She can run :20-:30 faster than Fairchild at Balboa Park.
Not sure we'll see it this year due to NXN, but I think she'll race it as a Senior.

If they're sticking to "the plan", which they have been all year so far, Footlocker is looking way more likely than NXN.
There's still time, but as of now their team isn't realistically in the mix for an NXN bid.

Tuohy was 3rd in a "boys/girls" merge, behind Shea Weilbacker of Saratoga at 15:53, and her teammate from North Rockland,
Daniel Shephard at 16:33.

Tuohy could have broken 16:30 today all out. That 16:52 was a cruise in the park out there

Were you there, or just speculating? (serious question)

Inside source. Her coach wanted her to work on the hills and run extremely relaxed on the other parts. This was far from an all out effort. Apparently she finished not anywhere close to exhausted( as per her coaches instructions). They have many races in a row lined up so having many super hard efforts is not in Katelyn’s best interest. She can run much, much faster. Her next all out effort will be at Bear Mountain on October 25.
Does anybody have full results?

some more perspective, Cuffe set the record in 2009 Foot Locker Northeast Meet. The average improvement time for the 7 girls I could track from here to Balboa Park that year was 23 seconds (Cuffe herself improved by 24, but of course she easily won in NY, finished 4th in nationals at 17:22). The 8th girl apparently improved her time in 2010 to 18:25. Two girls times were about unchanged and one girl improved by a minute - the others were right around 20-30 seconds improvement.
So in theory, if she ran footlocker, she could run 16:30? Breaking Melody Fairchild’s record that has withstood assault from Julia Stamps, Jordan Hasay, and Claudia Lane?
She can do a lot better than 16:30. She's closer to 15:45-16:00 at Balboa Park.

Just In Time Racing, the timing company, has them posted.
Was off the grid all day - and this is one of the more surprising results I'm seeing on LRC today.
What I wish I could see is her finish. Is she really relaxed and not sucking for oxygen too much (implying a workout effort), or is she looking a bit stressed? Either way, she is a once/generation talent. However, we all want to know if she is on par with a Zola Budd type of teen-aged talent without all the political baggage.
I truly hope she is not running too much mileage and being pushed too hard too soon. I'm hoping we are not close to seeing her full potential yet. I don't want to see it until 2024.
To answer your question, I did get to see the last 2 minutes of her run, and she looked as relaxed as someone can look while running that fast. I do not have any 'insider' dope, but would have to believe this was a hard workout (she checked her watch multiple times in first 1/2 mile) and certainly not an all out effort. She will return next month for the N.Y. State Meet and dominate (even with a stellar Kelsey Chmiel in the field). When will she ever have someone to run with or chase over the next 1 1/2 years?

I think that's out of reach for a girl.

Why would she check her watch in the first half mile???
And why would her checking her watch lead you to conclude the type of effort she was making???

It does sound insane, doesn’t it? She’s currently in shape for about a 14:35-14:50 on a lightning fast course like Woodbridge. And she runs hills very well so although it’s hard for me to believe too, that’s what the numbers point to. Remember she’s keeping up with 9:10-9:20 guys. I coached an 8:55 guy who ran around 15:10 and a 9:05 guy who broke 15:30 at Foot Locker. If she’s motivated, healthy and wanted to really test herself I’d put money on her breaking 16:00.
