Foot Locker for Tuohy!!
Seriously, you're congratulating a girl that runs 20:42 with a PB of 19:50?? She ain't getting back to that this year.
Don't be so sure. She started by running 21:42 at Ocean, then went 21:09 at Holmdel (a slower course) and is now down to 20:42 at Bowdoin (some would say is an even slower course). Yes, she is trending in the right direction.
Last year at NXR (at Bowdoin):
Tuohy was 1st
Morales was 13th in 19:17
Pezzementi was 33rd in 19:50
Ruffino was 72nd in 20:57
Grall was 97th in 21:35
They are much better this year. The top 5 could all be sub 20 by NXR
Let's see how it ends...
Big win for North Rockland at Rockland County Champs.
Tuohy (of course)
Morales 18:27 (back racing after taking last weekend off, she ran 18:47 on that course last year)
Ruffino 18:47 (great race for her, ran as fast as Morales ran on this course last year, she is still #3 on the team even though Pezzementi ran 1:43 faster than she did at Bowdoin last weekend)
Pezzementi 18:59 (almost back to her 2017 form. Huge improvement in the last 45 days. She ran 18:42 on that course last year. She he may regain her #3 role by the next race)
Dellamedaglia (Fr) 19:08 (biggest mover of the team, she ran 1:54 faster than last weekend)
Fagelman 19:08
Keller 19:20
Can the top 7 run sub 20 at NXR? First time that North Rockland shows their whole team in a race. North Rockland has to be ranked 3rd or 4th in NY by now.
Agree, getting 6 runners within 3 minutes of Tuohy is a big improvement from where they were several weeks back.
172 speed rating. Definitely an off day for her. We’ll see how she runs at Sunken Meadow in a couple weeks.
172....just terrible....guess all those saying she is "done" are right (LOL)
My original post followed KT's performance at Sunken Meadow, nothing to do with Bowdoin, if that helps.
And, as might be surmised, someone borrowed my handle; hazard of the unregistered.

Tuohy must be slowing down.
But I stand by my assertion that Katelyn Touhy ran a race, not a workout. Anyone within 15-20 seconds, and that's just their after the race claim, is running a race. There are definitely a few people on here who are new to running, are trying to sound smart, or just simply don't get it when it comes to times and effort. One or two are registered and calling people children if they don't agree with them. Ignore them, they truly just don't get this level of racing over 5000 meters on a cross country course where no 2 are alike.

Yes, you're an a**hole, and a troll. We got that the first 74 times, thanks.
And, btw, *this* one *was* a race. That one was not.
You're welcome.
noone said it was not an effort, in fact she said it was a "hard workout". But she definitely did not run it as a race, or in the manner that she runs a race. That is all. It was not an all out effort for time. It was not a jog. It was a given she would win. Perhaps we just disagree on what "race" means vs what a "hard workout" means? So in your expert opinion, any hard effort in which there are competitors is "racing", whereas if you take away the competitors and run exactly the same it is a "workout"?

Says the a**hole who knows nothing about running! You're ripping the poster and you're probably a 3:35 marathoner, right? Grow up sp2, you'll need to get faster before anyone takes you seriously.

Relax Melvin the internet tough guy! He made some decent points, you guys are almost so obsessed with her that you can't see the Forrest for the Trees.

sp2 means slow poke 2
A jog? Who said that but maybe you? I've never read one post on this thread or any that said that, till you.
Anyone who thinks they may have had a max of 15-20 seconds left in them, raced! That's not a workout.
That's an excuse to sound like I wasn't really trying.
Now if she ran 1:30 slower, that is not a race, that's 30 seconds per mile. You surely don't run or have never run anywhere near that pace to understand the point...your post proved that.
I ran 17:48 6 years ago. Courses vary, greatly. If I ran 18:08, that's a race! If I ran 19:08, that's a hard effort, but not all out.
I made it to the state meet, been there and am currently a med student at U of M. I can answer for the other posters, but I know what I'm talking about.
My the way, this is my first post regardless of what any of you think.
Back to the books!
And yes, I'm a female.
Interesting take.
However:
Why is this thread still going? The point is, Tuohy likely can go faster regardless of if you call it a race or not. It wasn’t all out and if it was, she’s probably training through this for the most important races of this year.
you lost any credibility with me when you said running 30 seconds per mile slower than maximum effort for 3 miles is a hard effort.
