I'm not even trying to put a time on this kid anymore.
I'm just gonna watch and smile. -
Being involved with CO XC & Track for the last 30 years Ive been blessed to see some amazing runners. What Tuohy is doing is just insane. Tip of the cap to her. Hopefully we get to watch her race for years to come.

So she jogged it as a workout, and beat Aisling (who's one of the best we've ever had) by 50 freaking seconds.
Yeah, that's messed up.
She's *off* the charts. -

Tuohy broke the Bowdoin Park record in a workout effort of 17:10 and then ran 16:52 all-out. How fast does this young lady run in workouts?
Don't know about Cuffe's effort when she set the Sunken Meadow record at Foot Locker qualifiers (didn't see it), but I know Cheserek's Sunken Meadow course record of 15:20 had him coasting the last part of race. -
some more perspective, Cuffe set the record in 2009 Foot Locker Northeast Meet. The average improvement time for the 7 girls I could track from here to Balboa Park that year was 23 seconds (Cuffe herself improved by 24, but of course she easily won in NY, finished 4th in nationals at 17:22). The 8th girl apparently improved her time in 2010 to 18:25. Two girls times were about unchanged and one girl improved by a minute - the others were right around 20-30 seconds improvement.

I think the "workout" was running up the hills hard, and then backing off a little on the flats and downhills.

So in theory, if she ran footlocker, she could run 16:30? Breaking Melody Fairchild’s record that has withstood assault from Julia Stamps, Jordan Hasay, and Claudia Lane? -
My guess for whatever it is worth, but maybe not much, is she would be closer to 16:15, figuring the 20 sec improvement course to course, and 20 sec improvement running all out vs the workout. Better weather and perhaps late season tapering might even take her even lower. But if she does FL, I think that record is gone for sure.

Agree completely. She couldn't have looked anymore composed and within herself out there this morning. Weather turned out not to be a factor. Broke Cuffe's course record by almost a minute! Didn't stick around to watch the boys but wouldn't be surprised if she didn't run faster than all but Top 2 or 3. Looked like she went out conservatively and must have picked it up out in the woods. Superlatives don't convey her talent. -
What was her speed rating?
Next race is? -
No real meaningful races for the next month, then states, Federations, NXN/FL Nov 10, 17, 24

She should come to Kenya to train

Section 1 Coaches Invitational next weekend. That's usually a pretty big meet, and her first crack at Bowdoin this year. -
not sure how hard she will run that one - last year that was a "workout" - 17:10, would think she would save energy for next several races.

It's miserable out there right now. Cold, rainy and windy.
Jog an 18:00, get the win by a minute instead of two, and learn the course, which from what they said was the plan for this weekend anyway.
Come back for the course record at States.
There's no need for heroics today.
*State meet -

No, then she would be associating with the EPO cheats, she does not need to cheat. -

Workout? Total BS. You guys are getting carried away. Everything is a workout, hardly an effort. Yes, I've been running for years, went to State, broke 3 hours as a 15 year old, blah, blah, blah, blaaaaaaaaah! Aka, I've been around the block. Workout Schmurkout! BS.
