same. I liked him, Murphy, and Engels before they joined NOP. Not so much anymore.
Murphy is done
Centro is done

Whenever I hear this I think "What do we really know?" NOP has signed 4 of the top athletes over the last 18 months. These athletes wouldn't knowingly join this group if things were as bad as many of the people on here try to make them out to be. I mean these are well liked athletes that could go anywhere but they are going to NOP. This makes me believe they know the inside scoop on whatever happened/is happening, etc. I refuse to believe all these people would continue to join if there was truly something going on or something that happened. Could it be the athletes on the team know more than the Message Boards?

Please, enlighten me how this dissemination of the inside secrets would play out during the contract negotiations. I'm ready to be entertained.

These athletes were already Nike contracted athletes (except Engels). There is no 2nd contract to join the Oregon project. They are willingly moving to Portland to train on the oregon Project. Do you think they are being forced to move across the country Brazier/Murphy to join a different Nike group?

No, when did my posts indicate anything of the sorts?
Brazier and Murphy actually have very similar 400m speed. Brazier was a very good high school xc runner as well, a 15 minute guy, and was doing that on light distance. His potential in the mile is tremendous, as was already seen in high school, where he ran something like 4:08. He ran 3:59 last December in the mile, and closed in a way that showed he had the capacity to run a lot faster. I would not be surprised in the least to see him run low 3:50s in 2019.
One Mile 3:59.30 College Station (USA) 09 DEC 2017
400 Metres 46.91i College Station (USA) 20 JAN 2018
400 Metres 47.02o Tempe, AZ (USA) 09 APR 2016
He also was on a 3:02.96 4x400m relay outdoors, which indicates a split around 45-46.
One article lists him with a 45.9 split, not sure if that was the same race.
Murphy has just a 47.97 400m pr from April 28 last year, but ran a 45.4 indoor split to win MACs as anchor.
Great move! Been seeing this coming for the past few months, many threads were talking about it. Brazier has been posting around Nike campus and working with Dave McHenry recently.
Since Alberto coaches Murphy, it would make sense for Brazier to tag along.
One side note: Alberto and Pete write workouts together and play off each other to figure out what will work well for each athlete. People think that Pete is just doing his own thing, but that is far from the truth. The Oregon Project believes in individual coaching as much as possible, so they just have each coach have more focus on a few particular athletes.

I guess I missed what you were implying. Don’t you think these athletes would ask about everything going on and not join if they weren’t satisfied with the answers? Or do they just not care?

I don't think that Brazier has any super secret inside knowledge about the allegations/investigation compared to those who closely follow these boards, no. Do you think Alberto gave him some detailed explanation for exceeding IV limits with L-carnitine as a part of negotiations that USADA isn't privy to?
Brazier went 4:07 and 15:26 in high school. He can handle more than he wants to.
Your refusal to believe something does not matter.
They are willing to do whatever it takes to be the best in the world. Just like Alberto.

Not to mention a Vigil based group and Vigil based school (Adams State), both at altitude. ....Pretty sure he's did some strength work before.
That would be Boris Berian. Brazier went to Texas A and M.

That’s the thing with brazier is that he doesn’t want to. He’d rather not do the work of a miler it seems.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I didn't see this coming. Hopefully, they can teach him how to race because that is his only problem. He is very talented, but just does a lot of stupid things when he runs ( see the indoor WC).
No way hell will Al train him. There is just too much going right now with Hassan and Yomif. The marathon season is done for Galen and Hasay. But Hassan has the European Cross Country circuit, plus indoor track season. Same for Yomif. Plus Murphy and Centro have indoors coming up .
Brazier will probably train with Engels, and run with Murphy and Centro every now and then.
While hasay and rupp didn't have a good year this year, the track based athletes did great this year under AL.
Notice how NOP is trying to clean up its image.
ScorpionRunner - How can you write Rupp had a bad year?!
Rupp ran 2:06:07 and 2:06:20 this year!
Only Khannouchi has ever done better in one year for an American.
The best USA times EVER are ( please add if I'm missing any):
*Ryan Hall - 2:04:58 (super duper wind-aided and no one in race ever got within 90 seconds of their time that day)
Khannouchi - 2:05:38 - 2002
Khannouchi - 2:05:42 - 1999
Khannouchi - 2:05:56 - 2002
Galen Rupp - 2:06:07 - 2018
Ryan Hall - 2:06:17
Galen Rupp - 2:06:20 - 2018
Khannouchi - 2:07:01
Khannouchi - 2:07:04
Khannouchi - 2:07:19
Ritz - 2:07:47
Khannouchi - 2:08:36
Meb - 2:08:37
Khannouchi - 2:08:44
Kempainen - 2:08:47
Salazar - 2:08:52
Beardsley - 2:08:54
Abdi - 2:08:56
Greg Meyer - 2:09:00
Rodgers - 2:09:27
etc etc....
Keep in mind, Scorpion is in record as saying Galen is a 2:09 guy at best. So running 2:06 twice is clearly a disappointment for him.

Why run the mile when you’ve run 1:43 and have won NCAAs and USAs?
