Does the sweat elite app not work for anybody else? Hasn’t worked for me in months.
so can anyone say what his 40k run was? was it 1:53? or did he do wr pace 1:55?
i mean what the hell did he run
Bekele was so 2008.

This is correct. Kenneth will DNF. The glory days are over for him.

yeah, exactly....no word on what this run exactly was
I think he will PR and be #2 all time...but no way he runs sub 2:02. It's way too late into his career for that

World-greats have been running in the 2:05-2:06 range here for the last two decades, right? No way a washed up Bekele breaks 2:04. The CR should be a real struggle.

Canova believes it's the fastest course in the world.
I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand I want Eliud to keep the WR. On the other hand - just imagine the crazy buildup for their next meet it would be if Kenny actually did run sub 2:02!
Marathon Running and their next matchup (WC next year, or London, or Berlin, or Tokyo 2020) might actually be the biggest news story in the world for a whole year, possibly two years!
And they'd both be offered like ten millions each to face each other ahead of Tokyo, in a joint sub 2 attack. Two marathon runners might, for the first time in history, join the top ten club of the world's best paid athlethes.
What a time to be a fan that would be! :-)

Lol, this one made me laugh.
This is pure marketing BS. No evidence has been presented that he can come even close to that time.

lols the course record is 2:05:09.....i dont think that qualifies for being fast
i bet KB does a high 2:03-low 2:04 which would be a high 2:01-low 2:02 worth in berlin. but the problem is he is in amsterdam, and the best time is 2:05...
I find it funny how one person is posting under all the different names to say negative things about Bekele. I can't wait to hear crickets chirping here in less then 2 weeks.
High quality athletes yes. Bekele is greater than that. If he's had no injuries and a really good buildup he would demolish that course record. He's run 2:03 low man come on. Amsterdam is a very fast course the course record would be lowered by at least a minute and change if they could get a very good and fit field the way Berlin does every year.

He means that Parker did a long race-like effort a month out from Chicago, and the board of geniuses went ballistic. Bekele does it, and OMG Bekele is so fab!
the course looks like it has way to many sharp turns
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amsterdam_Marathon#/media/File:Amsterdam_marathon_2007.png
how does that compare to chicago, new york, london and berlin
from the looks of it berlin has the best course by far, then chicago, then amsterdam, then london...

Strava credit it with less elevation than Berlin. When I ran it, it didn't feel so flat, but I was not in great shape. Maybe the course record is not so great because it's not been run often by the very best.
Kenenisa missed an "almost easy" opportunity to break the WR when he fell in Dubai, and again in Berlin in 2016. I have no idea if he is done, but he is not older than Farah or Kipchoge. It's a long shot, but I hope he breaks the WR in Amsterdam.
Bekele making a return to the 800 I see! A bit weird to move down in distance like that, but hey, he's the goat so what can I say?
Haha, I don't think he'll run faster then 2:05, he has better abilty then Kipchoge based off his 5000/10000 times but I think he lacks the focus of Kipchoge. That's why I don't think he's taken to the marathon as well as the track, even Mo Farah has taken better to the marathon then Bekele.
