What goes through mind when you run?
If it is music, then what song goes through your mind when you run?

My mind goes blank.
If it's a harder run where I'm paying attention to my pace and splits, I wind up doing a lot of mental arithmetic (which becomes progressively more difficult as I gradually dehydrate).
Other than that, nothing.
Having said that, my brain is always working in the background, because I always seem to come back from my runs with that day's little troubles all worked out, without having consciously thought about them.
Dont think just run
So we "dream" and think sub-conscious thoughts when we run?
I do. Not sure about the dreaming part, necessarily, though.
I count a lot when I'm running. Especially during intervals.
On my morning runs it's the memory of Krispy-Kreme glazed donuts and hot coffee.
When I'm running easy or running bad, random things.
When I'm running well, absolutely nothing.
I either think of nothing or everything...
lately i've found myself taking mental inventory of muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, aches and pains... etc.
my favorite thing to think of is what my competition is or isn't doing right at that moment
If I'm doing a long easy run by myself, sometimes I think about how my life would have been different if I were 10% faster. I take 10% off all of my PR's back to high school, figure I would have run sub 4 as a junior, it would have been a big news story, etc. I would have had a full ride at Stanford, been a multiple NCAA champion, gone to the olympics, maybe won a medal, etc. The time really flies when daydreaming like that.
Starting off at a comfortable pace, easing into the workout, "Man, this was much easier ten years ago", "I'm tired and thirsty", "Mmmm...donuts", "Damn it's cold", Hmmm...Jenna Jameson and Halle Berry makin' a Portland Runner sandwich...yeah, that would be hot, these shorts are fitting really tight all of a sudden,...
Lately, I've tried coming up w/an explanation for why the milk I pour in the toilet doesn't flush down....it just swirls and swirls then goes down w/a second flush. Help, anybody?
???????????????
Are you speaking in some kind of code and I'm just not getting it?

Nope, I'm not making the milk/toilet story up. Also this: why do I annually get some annoying illness at the end of Feb/start of March w/out explanation? This has been going on for about 25 years.
I always wonder why you can walk into the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Dayton, OH and yell "Hey Lonnie" and someone always turns around.
Dewey say's "thanks" for Lonnie's help getting those tickets removed from his driving record. Now he can join J.D. making pizza deliveries from the Cassano's on Wyoming Ave.
I always have a weird, weird song in my head when I'm running in a race. When I pr'ed in the 400 I had "I've Had the Time of My Life" in my head...that can't be normal.
I'm quoting, and not sure who, but this sums it up for me:
"I always think about sex while running, but interestingly never think about running during sex".
During a race my mind goes absolutely blank.. this is really the only time my mind goes completely blank. But I sometimes think about the pain I'm going through and what time I'm going to end up running.
How much I want to bitch out my ex girlfriend(she runs for another team) who is at the edge of the track cheering on her current boyfriend(who she dumped me for). That and how many laps I have to go. And when to throw in my kick.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
