Bump. I’m currently considering the same two races for 2019 (but I have a passport). Looking to run sub 2:30. I’ve run the old course (2013) at Columbus. The weekend of October 19/20 works really well for my work schedule so that’s how I landed on these 2, but I can be sold on other fall marathons If someone really wants to make a case for a different one.
Some of the advantages I see for Toronto are: probably more people to run with, seems flatter, more long straightaways meaning a lot less turns (but a few 180s), later start time (coming from mountain time zone). Columbus advantages seem to center around easier travel/logistics and probably a significantly cheaper trip. Maybe less wind in Columbus?
I would love to hear any other advantages/disadvantages others can think of for either race.
Anyone want to make a case for one or the other?
