I always find it interesting how people use the shorter distance race as the baseline for comparison at longer distance. Why is it never the other way around? Perhaps its because most of start competing at the shorter distances then move up to the 'thon in time? Regardless of reason, the mid-D talent bias is real.
Anyways, Hall is on fine, and with crazy consistency. Huge congrats. Hope shes takes some down time so she's fresh for Tokyo.

I don't know, maybe because people start with middle distance than move up to 5k-10k than move up to the marathon and beyond.
Awesome race by Emma Bates. Surprised no one mentioned it so far.

I was impressed with Emma’s result, too. She has been on an uphill trajectory as well. I hope it continues.
Yes, just watched the race and she had been dropped by about 10s after a few miles before working her way back to rejoin Molly & Sarah around 8 miles. She says she's going for CIM (to try and win the Running Circuit title if Sarah's not there) - interested to see what she can do there.

Yes, I am excited to see what Emma does at CIM. It was impressive to see her come from behind and gain on Sara and Molly in the latter stages of the race. Also enjoyed her pre-race interview. I cannot imagine what she went through with losing her father a few years back. You could tell how much this specific race means to her.

A few people have commented on this already. But yes, she ran great!
How come the Subject line of Wejo’s post has her name correctly, but it has “Sarah” on the boards?
We'll see if she runs well when it counts. She's never made a team.
Sara has a bit of a history of running down Molly late in races. 2005 NCAA champs 5k she outkicked her for second, and then of course her 2012 USA XC victory at the line.. the first time Huddle got nipped while celebrating..

Deja vu for Huddle. Remember 2012 XC Champs?
This! Both in marathon training mode, no telling exactly where they are in their training. It was a one second loss, we're splitting hairs here. Huddle will be fine.
Hopefully it is just the marathon training in the legs. Molly has pretty much dominated against Americans on the roads and she started this race like she intended to dominate. She looked less Molly-like than usual. Hopefully just a heavy training phase.
