Her only motive for announcing her "goal" publicly was to garner attention.
Her stated "goal" indicates one of two things, 1 she doesn't know anything about the sport or 2 she doesn't respect it.
Her constant attention seeking together with her willingness to prostitute herself make her little better than gutter trash and as such will be treated accordingly
Do you feel the same way with all professional athletes? Michael Jordan, Lebron, Peyton Manning, Renaldo, Phelps, etc. Do you not feel that marketing, promotion, endorsements are legitimate business practices?
Yes, I do feel the same way. When Michael Jordan went for pro golfing or baseball or what ever that was, I thought it was a "joke," meaning, I didn't think he'd do very well. He didn't come out saying he was going to win a Masters tournament and be the top in the world at it. If he had, guaranteed people would be all over him about it. When he spoke of high goals in the sport he mastered? No problem. He had proven himself and the goal of "winning it all" was realistic. We would have slaughtered him had he spoken the same way as Gwen about a sport wjere he had not proven himself.
As for the other athletes you mentioned, Lebron, Peyton, etc. the same goes for them. When Gwen stated her gold medal intention for triathlon, it was reasonable and realistic as she was dominating the sport - and we cheered. To come into a brand new sport and make statements as she has, it is disrespectful or incredibly naive, or both.
