Everyone asking for the 2017 training - read the thread. IT. IS. LINKED.
Soon I will publish more, including at least half a dozen NCAA qualifying teams.
Seems like their bread and butter is TWO Long runs a week (16-20miles) and a Long Tempo (4-10 miles at thon pace.
Nothing crazy but do those consistently in the midst of 100 mpw type volume and you’re bond to get crazy fit. Especially since they get to do that for months at high altitude.
Would love a copy if you are still offering. thank you!
Forgot to add my email address!
Hi Hans Solo.. Got the NAU doc, would love others especially HS stuff . I'd take it either emailed or tell me where to find it. Thanks
Everyone quite posting your emails asking for it to be sent to them. It's on the freaking thread!

Working on it. Not a lot of time at the moment. Will start a new thread when ready. Also waiting for NXN to wrap up for a few of them.

LOL. People are stupid! Thanks Working Stiff and Han Solo for putting these together. You guys rock!
Anyone know the protocol for the treadmill hill sprints they do? They're referenced in the training doc and one of the podcasts (and also make an appearance on the Flotrack documentary that just came out) but little specifics are given. The Google doc shows them being 15-20 seconds in duration. Any idea what percent incline they're at? Or how fast the treadmill is set for? Rest?
Independent of NAU's exact method, does anyone else play around with these? As a coach in the northern part of the country, I'd love to have an option for hills beyond snow/ice covered roads.
The treadmill hills are similar to what Canova prescribes.
8-10x15s at 10-12 mph with 1:45 recovery and 15% incline.
Yes, less about the all out speed and more about the mechanics of running at 15%.
There are some great wrinkles in their training. Anyone know how the 1 minute on 1 minute off works? What are the cues for that 1 minute? Is that at R pace or harder?

Is this a real question?

I think that he wants to know how hard they are running the ons and offs.
I mean, its the week of NCAAs and its at altitude, i'm guessing they're told to run at an effort that feels good.
Did you really just take half of my post and ask if that is a real question? As the rest of my post says I was asking if there are cues for how hard the paces are. There are a lot of different ways you can do that. My apologies for the outlandish inquiry
What are you talking about? It's not the week of NCAAs. They do it every other week starting in July...
Dang man, my bad - honestly forgot about that. Wasn't trying to be a jerk, for real. I was only remembering the last workout of the year! My apologies...
But yes, hmm that is a good question. My best guess would be something along the lines of race effort, which would end up being somewhere in that threshold pace realistically?
Judging by Smith's attitude, I could imagine him saying something along the lines of just get the legs moving fast.
No worries. Thanks for the info. I was mainly curious because it seems like it is possibly the only thing they do during the summer and fall that is faster than mile race pace. Outside of the 15-20s hills (which I'm assuming those are ran at close to all out?).
