Long weekend coming up, I hope to find some time to post more training. I have a lot of high school stuff to post, so keep an eye out for that in the coming week.
Link looks great han!
Its interesting that nearly all of the programs do incredibly similar training. And it’s similar to many of the pros.
60-80 miles per week (give or take)
6-8x1k
4-5xMile
20x200
Hills
4-6 mile tempos
Strides (8x100, 5x150, 6x200)
Speed work, low volumes of it, usually a ladder (6/4/3/2 as an example)
Not much traditional VO2 Max work
The NAU program is a bit different but the middle distance stuff is very similar.
Thank you Han Solo, for compiling these. Would it be possible to add athletes name next to the sample schedule? While in general the training might be very similar under respective coaches, there might be some individuals differences, therefore it might be useful to add a name next to it. Ex. 2015 Andy Powell's schedule is for Johny Gregorek (based on race times).

Thanks for doing this! Really cool stuff. I'm excited to take a look at some of the high school stuff you have in particular.
Are these high schoolers for the most part from outstanding programs, or outstanding runners? I always thought it was interesting how one school can have one ridiculously fast kid and the rest of the team is just average.

Something else I noticed was that even for miler-specific training, they do very little work at actual mile pace. Almost all the speed work is a bit faster, and the rest is aerobic work (with quite a bit at lactate threshold). There's a few sessions of specific work (that 1200@race pace + all out 300 from Vigilante is particularly nasty) but for the most part it's either faster or slower, not dead on.
Makes sense. Training at mile pace is tough and you sacrifice on both ends if you do it too much.
bump
Perhaps in honor of it not being officially summer (and cross country season), I will take some time to post some of the training of high-achieving high school programs of the last several years.

Looking forward to it!
Same here plz
Nico is the greatest high school runner of all time. Will they know how to handle him when he is dropping the guys in workouts this fall? I expect he will be in the running for the win.

You should read the thread before you respond.
Nico's great and all, but if you think guys like Luis Grijalva, Abdi Nur, Brodey Hasty and Drew Bosley are going to get dropped by him, I think you're not quite informed about the drastic adjustment going from sea level to 7,000 feet requires. No, Nico will need some time to catch up to those guys, but he'll get there.
I mean, he definitely won’t be able to drop Luis, Abdi and Drew but Hasty will be off their asses. He’s good but those four are on another level than Hasty.
Hey man, I'd love a copy of that training log if you still have it.
And you want me to send it to you how? With the email you didn’t provide? Oh wait, everything is already posted. Read the thread.
I swear if another person asks for me to email it without reading I am going to never post another thing here.
