Perfect conditions for racing today - cool and no wind, and we haven't had any rain this week. Doesn't surprise me that so many runners went under 25.

is 2:55 per k hard to believe?
ND vs Wisco wrote:
So...
NAU runs 23:28 average at Wisco (missing their #1)
BYU runs 23:53 average at ND
Can't compare the average times like that. Very different race atmospheres and the courses are completely different. Wisco is hillier than ND but ND has some really bad turns and bottlenecks (and is often kind of poorly marked). Wisco also had a much more competitive field which definitely makes times faster. We don't know what kind of workouts either team has been doing. In other words, dominating performances from both teams that were supposed to dominate and nothing else to see here.
Elliott Miller (stopped after 6k), Noel Rotich (2k), and Hayden Blalock (2k) all non-finishers for Alabama

Top 50 were under 24:00. Very impressive!

it is. could be a little short yeah, but .15m short is ~40 seconds i don't think it's that short. guys are in shape!
Northern Arizona had:
5th: Sophomore
8th: Sophomore
25th: Junior
52nd: Frosh
121st: Frosh
plus 2 freshmen in the open race who ran 24:47 and 24:53, plus Brodey Hasty.
this train is rolling.

They will never lose a championship again!
Sean Hartnett is the guy that measures the course. As in the guy giving Kipchoge splits in Berlin. It is safe to assume the course is accurate.
Purdue 9th? Is that a typo? That's where they normally finish in the Big Ten.
My two cents...
1) On the ladies side, we see that UNM is not some invincible powerhouse. Granted that it is early in the season, so Adva Cohen might improve significantly by November, by they really need to find a 5th runner. We also see that Colorado and BSU are the real deal. Both look deep and strong - and both look like more than 50% chance to be on the podium at Nats. Nice win for the Wisco lady, but most would probably still bet on Kurgat, Ostrander, Jones, etc... to be ahead of her come November. We'll see.
2) NAU seems to actually have a better team than last year. They made a joke out of the team race today, while not even running Baxter or Hastey. I hear both are healthy. Wonder if they RS Hastey since I do not believe they need him to win Nats again this year. BSU was the surprise finishing team for me today. They were ranked 9th, and believe they will move up a spot or two (I don't think they are a podium contender unless a couple teams have a really bad day at Nats).

Wow, too bad they don't have Soren as well. Could have been really unstoppable.
Portland Women Powered Up and Georgetown women, where are you?
Men: Purdue Men top 10 Powered Up, and Texas Men got hammered

With all the skateboard stuff he has been posting, I doubt he would pass the piss test for cannabis.

Not that I would either ;)

Do these teams not get points for beating alabama now?
Bummer that Flo-tracks Nuttycombe post race interviews are "Pro" only.
First time I've seen it, Not surprised but it's too bad other revenue models aren't working. Definitely limits exposure.
Portland women were a big surprise, but Purdue men entering the top 10 in huge. Could they knock other Great Lake powerhouses out of the NCAA meet like Michigan or Michigan State? Another props to the Wisconsin men, this is the team they have been saving for. Is it the start of another dominate reign. They can't afford the up and down years. Texas men were disappointing, lots of hype on Flotrack and some site had them 12th in the country. Not yet.
Purdue is not that big of a surprise, they have been rising for a couple years now and were better than IU last year. Never thought I would say that about Purdue XC.
NAU looks unbeatable. Peter Lomong is back at it, Luis Grivaja and Blaise Ferro have reached All-American level, and they completed dominated without Matt Baxter. If Baxter is indeed healthy and they held him out for whatever reason, he could have got top 10 and NAU would have all 5 scorers in the top 10. Keep in mind this is an 8k at the end of September and they are training through.
Tyler Day can challenge for the individual title. That extra 2k at Nationals makes a big difference and it seems the longer, the better for Day. Morgan McDonald will be tough to beat with that 13:15 5k PR, but home course advantage counts for something.
Course was short. Compare some of the head to head competitors from ND meet and Nutty and you will see the 25 minute guys from ND as comparable to 24:15 at Nutty.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
