Yeah, I dunno about Whitfield... Reckons no doping in Tri when he was racing, which is total BS. It was a free for all. Nobodies disappearing in to the jungles of Thailand only to emerge as world beaters. Nuh-uh.
Whitfield shows his "character" by associating with this guy.
He shows that even if you dope, he is fine to be on a team with you.
No doping in tri in 2000? OK, so it was the golden era of EPO in track but triathlon, the endurance sport where more than any other you can spend your way to success, had no drugs. lololololol

Please document how Lance Armstrong saved millions of lives.

Nearly fell out of my chair today when I was talking to our ad sales guy and asking him how the swim run even the puts on went and he told me Lance Armstrong competed along with Olympic triathlon champ Simon Whitfield.
Turns out Lance's lifetime ban only applies to cycling.
Lance and Simon finished 3rd overall in the SwimRun even in Washington state on the Orcas islands. I'm sure some LRCer can even breakdown this type of performance.

What we want to know is, did he look relax.... oh, never mind, he clearly did.
They both could have done solo division, or picked different team mate.

LA was a calculating Ahole and I’m glad he got busted . He was a very good cyclist on the sauce ( like many) but in the end he got it . Treated everyone like $hit ! God , what a loser in life

Pretty sure all that did not go to research...

Lance intrigues me. He could be cut-throat, but I know of situations where he was a really nice guy. He reached out to many folks diagnosed with cancer including quite a few competitive cyclists. Then I heard the story of a doping control officer (DCO) who showed up at his door to test him one morning. The DCO is a she and she has a male chaperone with her. Lance is not happy to see the DCO because the very young twins had created quite a sleepless night.
The DCO told Lance that she had raised twins as well. She said that he immediately lightened up and wanted to talk about how she did it. From there on out that DCO tested Lance as often as possible always said how nice he was.
We are all complicated, but he may well be outside the norm.

The female gold medalist in triathlon the year Whitfield won later on got busted for EPO...

Yes you are right. Lance is the GOAT. Many people living in denial and ignoring reality. He was great. Actually knowing the sport of pro cycling and the challenges associated with winning the TDF he was arguably the #1 athlete of all time.

He would be the #1 doped athlete of all time. In his seven Tour wins he simply outdoped his competition and had a better doped team than any of the other teams.
And if you don't think that winning a Grand Tour is not a team effort, then you know absolutely nothing about pro cycling. U.S. Postal/Discovery had some of the best doped cyclists money could buy and a top-level teamwide program (a few of Armstrong's former teammates that left to go on their own won Grand Tours!).
It's like if you have a bunch of "bank robbers" and one stands out and is more successful than the others - then you could conclude this particular robber was the best "bank robber" of his era.
