Give 'em a minute. They will.
They already did. Y’all just can’t read.

Has she mentioned whether she plans on running NXN or FL?
If that this is a legit course and if she is still in the proper training block, as a former coach, I would have her point towards Edinburgh and WJrXC. I would still do NXN and FL, but I would not make meets where you are the overwhelming favorite to be the focus,
As a coach, I would have her focus on outdoor track instead of XC

Jakob at 16 ran 3:31 for 1500m, just five seconds off an incredible doped wr, and 13:17, which was not close to what he could have run, which I believe was sub 13.
Uhm, no he didn't. Check his DOB.

Sickos.
What a sick mind you have to even try to point this out.

Why in the heck would you do that?

AS OF MOMENTS AGO, KATELYN TUOHY JUST DROPPED A 16:07 AT OCEAN STATE XC INVITATIONAL IN RHODE ISLAND. THIS BREAKS THE PREVIOUS COURSE RECORD BY 90 SECONDS.
NO OFFICIAL RESULTS AVALIABLE YET, BUT THIS IS WHAT IS REPORTED BY SPECTATORS ON SIGHT.
That race was absolutely insane. Chmiel had the previous record. She will easily go down as the best high school runner of all time, men or women.
I like her chances of making the olympic team in 2020.
Calm down. She certainly could make 2020 but let's remember she's not even at the age that Mary Cain started slowing down.
While Tuohy is certainly a better distance runner than Cain was at the same age, please see this.
Cain and Tuohy's 1500 PBs at age 16
Mary Cain's Soph Yr HS 1500 PB: 4:11.01 1500
Katelyn Tuhoy's Soph Yr 1500 PB: 4:13:54 (*converted from a 4:33.87 mile)

I hope she is the next Decker, but...awfully notable how few world class runners there are on that list of all-time fast XC times. Then again, I guess we shouldn’t always be looking to “the next thing.” I would have VERY happily settled for HS phenom who never went anywhere !!!
You want her to be Decker?
I hope she's the opposite of Decker.
I hope she a) medals at an Olympics and b) never tests positive.

The world isn't as black and white as you want it to be. If Decker was Tuohy's age right now and never meets Salazar, suddenly everything changes. Tuohy is more like Decker than she is any other high school girl currently competing. Of course we all hope she doesn't turn to the dark side, but you can hardly vilify someone's entire being because they ended up surrounding themselves with the wrong people. I still don't see how Cain's parents let her be handled by that guy after what happened with Decker. It's baffling.
The big thing you mentioned though is that Tuohy has yet to turn into a woman. She's still extremely lean and petite.

c) pulls off a double win at the world championships.
Katelyn Tuohy was 15 when she set her 4:33 mile as she has an August birthday making her super young for her grade. She also set this time in 90 degree humid conditions so I could’ve seen Katelyn running at least sub 4:30 in ideal conditions and possibly something like a 4:25 if she had pacers with her. Instead she is alone from the gun. I think that Katelyn is better at every distance above 1000m. She also is very clear of her comparison to Cain. Her coach said that the hardest thing for him to do is to hold her back. That’s probably why she isn’t running world juniors/Edinburgh/weekly meets. I’m sure she is much more capable than people think.
Katelyn and Cain have similar efficiencies, they over stride. Cain was much quicker off the ground though.
Katelyn is very good, but let's not build her up too much. I think it is dangerous to do. Having said this, I can see her running 14:55 - 15:15 during her career (if the expectations don't squish her).
Mary could have run 3:58, but got squished.
Still believe Alexa can run 3:57.

Similar efficiencies, they over stride? What is that even supposed to mean?
Cain was much quicker off the ground was she? How many milliseconds was Cain on the ground versus Tuohy? Do you have actual data on this?
Tuohy is currently in shape to run 15:15 for 5000 on the track. She's in a different stratosphere than all but maybe the 1 or 2 best NCAA female athletes.

Her birthday is in March.
You make a valid point. It is entirely possible that on June 23, 2021, Katelyn Tuohy will be eaten by Alberto Salazar's backyard gator Sal, after a postrace party following Katelyn's breaking of the American Record for the rarely-run 8km distance, leaving only shreds of her Nike apparel, shoes, and a shredded copy of Succeeding Without Charisma: The Galen Rupp Way, behind.
And if this happens, it will be a great tragedy. And Alberto will apologize over and over for "letting Sal out".
My observation, though I am hardly an expert on this, is that she has a fairly long stride but she also has virtually no up and down movement - her hips seem to stay at the same height and just turn over, so no energy wasted going up and down. I am curious tho how you know she is in shape for 15:15 5K on the track, Are you privy to her workouts? If that is the case the recent 16:07 would have been kind of a walk in the park.
