The only thing sadder than obsessing over what CAR YOU OWN is obsessing over the CARS THAT OTHER PEOPLE OWN.
Hey John Utah, Your family called and they said you are a miserable human being. Best of luck with that.

Trucks, especially American trucks hold their resale value very well. The used market for them is crazy. Nobody buys used German luxury cars because people know how expensive they are to repair & the markets flooded with ones that were leased.

Why do some new pickup trucks these days cost the same as an entry-level Audi or BMW? Marketing geniuses? I assume they’ve been able to alter the perception and now a pickup truck driver is viewed as classy. It may have been after George Bush and Dick Cheney went hunting in a F-150 in Texas?
Pick up truck best vehicle for American man to take sister on date.
4 doors and a 4 ft bed is not a real truck.
American trucks are only viable because of the "chicken tax", a tariff imposed on all imported light trucks. For the most part they're garbage subsidized by the American consumer. Although if you're thinking of getting an entry level Audi, you might as well get a top level VW instead. Golf GTI or R > Audi A3.
Whoops, found one guy in debt with his coal roller. Easy there Johnny.
C*ck. Really? Are you going to debate trucks and german-engineered sedans, or just throw out insults? I'd say go to another forum to do the second, but LetsRun has a knack for it lately.
I get that a truck is typically kept low on the trim levels. They are trucks. They are meant for work. They shouldn't have 50,000 moving parts and pieces that will break. This keeps price around $35k. Less money spent designing the interior, more money spent designing the cooling system of transmission fluid.
But the interiors are still trash.

You mean to tell me THAT is the interior you get on a 2017 King Ranch?! That is the same design as the base level except for a 5in screen and cheap leather. My non-contract amazon-bought phone has better resolution than that navigation screen. And for $60k+. Get out of here.
Give me the interior of a 2018 Volvo V60 anyday.

I have a big ass truck with a crew cab. Just bought it recently. It's a Dodge Ram 1500 with Ram Boxes.
I bought it for two reasons. It's a perfect truck to work out of and hold my ladders. It is also huge in the cab so I can haul my two young kids around in it while in their car seats and have way more room than needed. It's mind blowing how perfect this vehicle is for what I use it for.
However, 90% of these Silverado's, f-150's and Rams you see driving around are never used as a truck. They have a tiny 5ft bed that they put their groceries in and that's about it.
If you're not using it as a truck there's a lot of different vehicle options that would work as good or better for these people and get double the gas mileage.
BECAUSE It cool to be a redneck now
Make America great again
I own an Audi A4 (2015) and a GMC Sierra SLT Crew Cab (2018). Love them both. My Sierra is actually a little more full of electronic wizardry and upscale amenities than my Audi, and cost a bit more. Of course, the Sierra can haul my kids and all their luggage back and forth to college with great ease, while the Audi is useless in those situations and others that demand carrying much stuff. However, the Audi is a joy around town, and on the highway it eases into the 80s and 90s without even breaking a sweat, which is much fun! I recommend that everyone put both in their garage if possible.
You're comparing a farm/cattle diesel truck to a luxury city sedan? LOL
You're paying for more than just the interior in trucks/cars. I know many of you may find that hard to believe.
Why not get a BMW X5 instead with a trailer on the back? Isn’t that the best of both worlds?
Go with the Lexus rx350. Don’t look back.. the days of the American vehicle are over.
So would you agree the interior is worse on the King Ranch than the V60?
I’m bummed I was late to the party. always fun to see little johnny utah get destroyed and run away with his tail between his legs

^^double This. End of story.
Next.
I have never owned a pickup but wouldn't mind one, especially living in minnesota.. The winters can be rough.
I think these newer pickup trucks coming out look just as classy/fresh as your sports/lower level luxury cars. Nice and shiny, LED lights, clean interiors with all the modern features you'd find in any other car and fuel efficiency better than back then why not? you have the added bonus of 4 wheel drive if needed, being able to haul shiet easier, and run some butthole in a little toyota off the road who cut you off if desired.
There is nothing better than a German truck with a decent payload. Everything else are just toys.

It took long enough for truck manufacturers to catch up. Only 5 yrs behind in a fast changing automotive world.
4wd in pickups is horrendous. It's good for hauling. My VW with haldex awd system, an audi quattro system, or Subaru awd system way outperforms a truck 4wd system. Plus, an unloaded truck means zero weight on the rear wheels of a truck. You breath on the accelerator and you get oversteer.
