I'm assuming Nike won sponsorship contracts by providing the best deal, so they are effectively saying you can only participate in the market place if you as a company are in good standing with the president.

I honestly hope they follow through with this and this sets a precedent, because revenge will be sweet and deserved.

Man you are ignorant about real-world dealing. It's not what you provide, it's how much you graft. Particularly when the money is Public to start with, so the overseers (politicians) have no real skin in it.

A nice campaign contribution would only be a start, of course.

My Tennessee high school has a Nike contract. I’d like a coaching shirt with Kap’s face on it.

I think the schools themselves will be just fine. But I think the point you were maybe trying to make is that the best HS athletes may start looking at whether or not Nike is sponsoring a school and how the admin has responded/reacted to the topic Nike/Kaepernick.

Nobody is saying Nike and Colin can't exercise their free speech. Quite the opposite. You can say whatever you want, but you have to accept that when you alienate a lot of people, your value is going to decrease. Your actions / words have consequences. Just like Rosanne, just like Kevin Spacey, just like Ray Rice, just like Gary Hart, just like Howard Dean, just like Mel Gibson, just like Charlie Sheen, just like Paula Deen and every other individual that has offended a large percentage of people. The league didn't collude against Kaepernick, he colluded against himself by off setting any value he would bring to a franchise with the negative impact he would have on attendance, etc.
