This is a classic runner move. “Everyone who is faster than me is doping, but when I win a world championship it should not be suspicious at all”. Same thing with when Shalane Flanagan threw a hissy fit when Jordan Hasay and Galen Rupp ran fast at Chicago, but then somehow won nyc over Mary keitany. Coburn and her are just as suspicious with their results. How big of an ego do you have to have to think someone can’t just beat you on a given day?
Doping is a red herring with their results. How do you think Shalane NYC win and Emma WC happened? Kenyans suspiciously "slow" for the given day.....
It just stands to reason from basic economics, that when you have fast runners living in mostly poverty, competing against slower ones from rich countries that want to sponsor their victories, what the results will ultimately look like "on any given day".
