I agree! But if I eat healthy then why do I get sick a lot?
Maybe you're not eating healthy or not eating enough calories/fat.
But I am eating healthy. I have enough fat from meat and avocado and nuts.
Lopez Lomong is the most cut runner I've seen.
...and thats why the pros are usually injured. Food is actually not as unimportant as some people think.

Or maybe it is called pushing your body to the limit.
I agree that long term, there are always consequences.
Arteries don’t lie, and people who seem healthy on the outside, are not always healthy on the inside.
I know that having a lot of athletic talent can make a person feel invincible, but if you abuse the body enough, it eventually takes a toll.
My favorite saying is, “you cannot always make things better, but you CAN usually make them worse.” The best diet cannot turn Joe Schmo into an Olympian. But even the most genetically gifted humans can destroy their gifts, with enough neglect.
It's all relative.
"I eat gummy worms, and cookies".
Yeah, like once a month, or once a year? Or do you actually pound a bag of Haribo gummy worms everyday? I find that hard to believe. Do you have 800 calories in cookies, daily? Or just a few cookies a week?
Thinking 3 cookies in the midst of a 100 mile training week is going to matter is nonsense. Thinking seven cookies a day won't matter, is also nonsense.
