Probably the idiots who went out and bought them just to burn them.

Clearly Nike was acting in the best interest of its shareholders, the underpinning of great American capitalism.
Those whining belong in Venezuela.
And those pounding their chests about Trump’s Supreme Court nominees are cheering for handing more power to these giants, which are increasingly liberal.
Nike, Silicon Valley etc will have more power over the forgotten man in 5 years. All because the forgotten man was blinded by an emotional makeup whore. LOL

Venezuela is too good of a place for you.
This thread means nothing to me until their stock price surges.
No boycott against Nike has every worked. The big evil corporate gaint has use child labor sweat shops, sent jobs overseas, sponsored drug cheat and list goes on. Nothing hurts the sales. Even when black activists went after MJ and Nike because price of Jordan’s are causing youths to kill for them.
God bless Nike.
Citizens united decision by conservatives on the court gave almost all the power conceivable to corporations. Not much more to give and conservative justices will give as much power to corporations that they have the ability to.
Their stock prices are still down from where they were. This is also just an initial reaction to the move. Can almost guarantee that this 31 percent spike in sales won't be sustainable for very long at all. I not so secretly hope that Nike falls.

As a runner pretty disappointed to hear this. If Nike goes away a lot of R&D goes away on running apparel and shoes....We all benefit from a big giant like Nike if you don't support them. The small companies wont invest nearly as much $ into research for new innovations which eventually trickle down to other companies.
Yay! Nike rocks! The only protests and boycotts I see going on are anti-Trump. And they’re international and near universal.
Actually, the ad is pretty good.
It's not in your face. Simply states that "you" should stick to "your" ideals. Nike doesn't say that they have the same beliefs... super fine line here (I guess that they wouldn't have put a satan worshiper in that ad, so in a way they do not oppose the ideas).

People on this site like to bash Farah, Rupp, Bekele among others. Why? Because they are winners. Same goes for Trump. He’s a winner. People love to complain about winners and try to knock them down.
You can win the race but lose the battle. And that's what Trump is doing.

What's he won? Serious question, most presidents actions are felt more after they are out then in.
Your average person doesn't buy much athletic apparel every week or whatever. All other things equal, the amount of sales from the people who go by stuff right away in support will be greater short term than the sales lost from people who simply stop buying. That much should be pretty obvious. The true effect of the campaign will take longer to actually assess
Obviously nike puts a lot of research into their marketing though. They wouldn't do that if they weren't pretty certain it would make them more money. Lol at anyone who thinks they chose the campaign to support the cause, rather than profit off of it.
I'm fairly neutral to the nfl protests, but anyone who decides to boycot nike over it is an idiot. I can understand people who've been boycotting them all along, it's not without warrant, but to start now because of their ad campaign is just being a sour litte b***.
I started being uneasy buying Nike products when they had the "what am I on? I'm on my bike 10 hours a day (...and have amazing recovery to do the same the next day without ever getting injured)" commercial.
I still buy it (once in a while), but only after having looked at all the alternatives. They certainly do not win the ties.
Companies that get political alienate half their customers. Even MJ said Republicans buy bball shoes too. It's not a good long term business move.
It’s an egregious sin to refuse to kneel in front of the flag but you can grab women’s genitals AND encourage others to do the same. You can also make fun of people with disabilities and blatantly disrespect patriots who honorably served this country (McCain). It’s also ok to lie about having a medical condition to get out of serving in the military yourself.
Don’t disrespect that flag, though., people!
