Winny Chebet in 4:16 over Houlihan and Arafi.
Winny Chebet in 4:16 over Houlihan and Arafi.
Bit of a surprise there. Winnie Chebet hasn't run under 4:00.60 this year or been higher than 5th in a DL meet this year but she has good speed (1:58.13 800) and she beat Houlihan in a slow race that came down to the final 400.
Race was super slow which opens it up to more people althought Chebet was only one who was going to challenge Houlihan.
Houlihan has great speed but nothing that stands out at this level.

I did not see that one coming, especially after they took it out so slowly. I kept waiting for Houlihan to take off, but she never did.
I think Houlihan figured she'd just dust them the last lap but Chebet has good speed and kicking in a 4:13 race is different than a 4:04 race.
wejo, will you please do something about people insulting Canova on the other thread?
It's fine to disagree, to exchange arguments, but he's being called a liar, a cheat, etc., etc.
Please do something about this.
Thank you.
As for the topic here, can't wait for the steeplechase!
Bit odd having teams Americas and Asia Pacific in such similar colours.
Which thread? Yes I'll do something. Feel free to email me
PB for Semenya 49.62 in 2nd.

Just realized how far Houlihan has come this year. She never broke 4:06 last year and her PB prior to this year was 4:03. She'll be the world #1 or world #2.
Very impressive from Semenya now sub 50 in the 400m.
Jager DNS.

Double team points if they win.

I think each coach can select 1 event per sex per day where they get double points.
Are you caring how Africa does in the competition?
Steeple always brings the drama.

What? Of course I am. I'm doing all sorts of mental points calculations. Wish the athletes cared more.
Samba ends the season unbeaten. Europe played their joker yet Warholm only finished third.

But Europe got double points anyways.
They say Conseslus has won everything in the steeplechase but he has yet to win the important all africa games title lol....Well he has a chance next year in Morocco. Chebet beats so called favourite houlihan... Big ups to Semenya with a NR to finish second in 400m...... British only chance to get a gold in WC and Olympic, Asher Smith well beaten by both Talou and Ahoure in two weeks. Hmmmm
