I was reading through the thread about improving your basic speed through the 200m workout posted by ET I think.
Anyways, he mentioned that the speed should correct any muscle imbalances. I have a pretty ugly imbalance in my calves, and have no idea why, nor do any doctors know. My left is longer than my right, not as bulky, and is a lot harder to flex. Also it puts a strain on my left achilles, which hurts while I walk but does not bother me while running.
I've also had a lot of right hip problems, and currently can only run 35 mpw on 6 days a week.
Any ideas if a speed workout like the one mentioned above might help correct this? Or is it mainly for minor imbalances?
