"Second"? Try further down. Much further down.

Amazing...
Get back to me when there is some semblance of cleanliness in track. Good thing Ethiopia became the new choice for 'high altitude' training for Western athletes a few years ago. The weather is just too unpredictable to train in and don't get me started on the constant interruptions. I mean seriously 'pee in this', 'pee in that's, who has time for that malarky.
Excuse me while my doctor prescribes me a TUE.

You're a curious specimen el... You root for the most obvious dopers in the sport. When they get caught you make excuses, craft conspiracies... and then root for another crew of frauds. Pretty weak dawg.
Lagat 12:54
Solinksi 12:55
Ritz 12:56
Chelimo 12:57
Kennedy 12:58
Rupp 12:58
Pretty good company.

notice how the only kenyan was just barely under 13:00? its only a matter of time before the axe falls on ethiopia but for now rek is prob excited and elK is sad cause his boys got crushed.
good thing im not racists, nor have any ties to my "fav" distance runners. my favorites have always been ritz and KB. doped or not just enjoyed KBs smooth form, kinda like kipketer and lagat, just so smooth
Haters gonna hate. Show me some prominent Ethiopian athletes being busted.
It's not hard for me to imagine that Barega can run a second a lap faster than Solinsky.
Jakob beat him at WJC this yearin the 5k though!! Barega being the favorite screwed up in 5th place while Jakob came in 3rd place in that race.
Without Kejelcha, first going right with rabbits, second pulling them around (I'm sure he wasn't expecting anyone going with him), no one would run sub 13 today.
Yomif made that race, and did all the work to keep pushing. 7 runners under 13 mins crazy.
Great from Barega, who has not been in the best of form this year.
I can't recall another 5000m race, where 7 runners ran under 13 mins.
Those 2 will dominate 5000m for the next 8 years.
Good showing from Paul. He finally broke 13 mins, but he has some work to do if he wants to compete against the 2 ethiopians.

They are doping out of their minds, but unlike Kenyans, ehtiopians don't let people in their country like that.
Kenyans are too out in the open and friendly with too many people
There is reason why Ethiopia were never colonized. They are very private, strict, and extremely intelligent.
Please. This is pretty much all you need to know;
12:37.35 Bekele
12:39.36 Gebrselassie
12:39.74 Komen
12:43.02 Barega
Deer AIU, please visit Ethiopia after your stop in Kenya.
Kenyans distance men side have fallen into marathon training abyss. Those who are not injured or burned out, run well. As is, their best marathoner has 3000/5000 capability and something close to 3:50 mile PB.
Ethiopia recognizes the need for speed side development and thus trains more intelligently for 5000/10000 success. Less fixated on volume as a panacea, and thus able to push more quality.
Ironically, the Kenyan 1500/3000 runners are more in tune with the requirements.
Can't spell Ethiopian without EPO wrote:

What a sham.
Swing by the US and get some testing done. None of those fatties are breaking 13 without being on something.

no, they'll soon be moving to the roads (real money)
Cram was saying on the broadcast that Barega doesn't quite have the pace of some of the others in a sprint finish, which might explain that mind-boggling world junior result where he couldn't even medal. Even his last lap was only 56 here, but 56 in a 12:43 race! If you even out the first two kilometers at 2:35 each, or even go 2:33 each, who knows whether Barega could have taken even more off. He was so fresh at the end that it seemed like he could have stuck a quarter second faster per lap (=12:40). Where's ventolin to enjoy this (before the testers turn to Ethiopia)?

Yomif is 21, and Barega is 18. The two haven't even experienced the Olympics yet, and they will not really see the road
until they are about 27. They are ethiopian, and track means more than the road to Ethiopians. If they were Kenyans, you would have a point.
Just look at Dibaba, Bekele, Haile. They didn't leave the track until their 30s.
In Ethiopia it is all about the track, and then graduate to the road.
In Kenya, it is all about the Marathon.
