3:32, 13:02, and technically superior with hurdling. So what’s missing because there isnt another current steepler who can match 1 possibly 2 of those 3 facts?

He’s waiting to get passed.

That’s the difference since the face plant.

You can see it and feel it if you’ve ever coached....you know it when you see it in an athlete.

He has no mojo.

He can’t match the speed at the finish, which is why he moved to the steeple from the 1500.

He doesn’t have the anaerobic threshold for a sub 13 5k.

The fancy bear leak forced him to be clean, and what you see us what you get.

Never a sub 8.

PED bust for anyone in BTC would break my heart.

What I wonder is if Jerry pushes things with him or they just do mostly the same thing every year. Coaches can be tempted to, especially with where Jager is (best american, competitive DL, etc) as opposed to really pushing things. I hope there was a ton of emphasis on speed, hurdle form, or strength during this “off” year?

Kipruto may have a Ferrari engine but he also has something else uptop. He was determined to win the jackpot.

Jager did fine. Running that close to sub-8 is an amazing achievement in itself.

The problem I see is that he tends to be the rabbit rather than sit and kick.

He gets a bit scared and then just goes through the motions the last 400. It’s only a second or two, but he has a 7:59 in him.
