I have no idea why Obiri took the lead on the backstretch. I'd rather be behind but she got the lead and never gave it up.
Because when you're closing that fast the extra energy it takes to get around someone is a major factor. It's much different sitting on someone closing a faster race in 64 or 65 and trying to get around them coming off the curve than closing that race off a pedestrian last 2 laps in sub-60.
You can bett the Kenyans are having a good meet!
You can bett they're pleased with these performances!
I love Hassan's new hairstyle.

Dibaba, the world record holder at 1500m, gave up 10 seconds in the final 300m. Unbelievable, really.
Seems like the new normal to me. At this point, I'd be stunned if she started running like the Dibaba of 2015.
Will anyone be able to keep up with Houlihan tomorrow?
McMaster just won that with both shoes untied...
This is an amazing meet but it makes no sense that the only running event is 4 x 100. Who came up with the order of events? They should have ended with something better than that.
hmmm what happend to this sub 3:29 talk?
if i was a betting man, i would say my prediction that sub 3:30s will become super rare and i was called a moron...then kiprop went down
Weird way to end the meet.
Wish Delia Sclabas was running today.

Only running event? Theres plenty of running events in this competition.
Perhaps try to translate it into proper english?

???
My Friend, you said no times sub 3:33 and I'll find it for you if you like. You said 3:33 is a super elite time but nobody realises because of the doping Kenyans but all that will stop.
This year there has been 3 runs under 3:30 and one in 3:30.01 and tonight Cheruiyot ran 3:30.2 with a 39/40 last 300m. There has been 17 3:31 runs.
Nothing has changed vs last year just as I said it wouldn't. In fact this year has become more interesting with the Norwegians and Jakob/Filip might well join the sub 3:30 club next year.
ok show me
and i dont count monaco that place is 2-3 seconds fast everyone knows it
Thanks.

First rabbit did his job, 2:37 first K. Field was about 2:40, but then Kipruto slowed up (while the rabbit got farther and farther ahead) and everyone was stacking up behind him ... no one wanted to pass. That got you the crawling 2:55 second K.
Weird tactics. With perfect weather and Kipruto down a shoe (and not at 100% even before that), you think someone would have tried going to the front and keeping it fast.
Granted I didn't see much of the race ... listened on the IAAF radio broadcast. Had a livestream going but between commercials and bad connection missed actually seeing most the race.

And of course they cut to commercial before we see him encounter a water jump. I'm on the edge of my seat, here!
I have Roku and I bought the NBC Sports Gold Package- no commercials and I don't have to get annoyed at the regular NBC announcers- I choose the British coverage.

yes it does. but in this case you would only have been disappointed anyway. Fred Kerley 44.80 FTW, Steven Gardiner pulls up injured with like 80m to go.
Actually this is big for Kerley and American rooters because it means a wild card entry for Doha.
Good catch, that's big.

So you are saying that you never said there would be no times under 3:33 this year, and no times under 3:30 outside of Monaco?
You accept you were wrong, by retracting those statements?

It would be really cool to see that happen in the women's 100 and 400 hurdles. The U.S. has about 6 potential medalists in the 100h and about 4 in the 400h.
enough with the blabbering...show me all ready
and no i dont accept monaco times at all
kiprops next best time after his monaco times? yeah you guessed it 3:29 and know we all know he was a EPO doper

Such a disgusting farce: testo Semenya and beef Wilson 1-2.

i tell you all know, with the big man kiprop no longer able to stay "clean" in the new testing in kenya, there will be a huge fear going on, and boom you will watch, more will be planting potatoes, claiming injury, and running SLOWER....but there will still be the ones trying to risk it and booom busted, busted busted.
predictions
3:33-35 for kenyans, 3:31-32 at monaco
13:05-13:10 for kenyans
27:20s for kenyans
2:06-08 for kenyans
the heat is on, the mighty proud and arrogant kiprop has fallen and now EVERYONE in kenya will start to fear.
All those involved in those threads know you and Coevett made these predictions. Both were wrong.
Coevett interestingly put himself in a position by claiming sub 3:33 is dodgy and 3:30 outright doping but then his favourite Scandinavians went 3:30.0 and 3:31.1
