That's because there is no real difference between the two parties.
Tom Woods law, no matter whom you vote for, you always wind up getting John McCain.

Rest In Peace. Respect.
RIP, sir.
This was an awesome moment
Very good man, Rest In Peace. Thoughts and prayers are with his family.
As a Democrat, and former D1 runner, RIP American hero John McCain.
He wasn't perfect (no one is). I disagreed with him on plenty of issues/votes. But I think he proved time and time again that he had a lot of courage and integrity and class.
(and for those planing on giving me examples of when he didn't display those qualities, I already said: he wasn't perfect.
But he certainly displayed 10000x more class, courage, and integrity than did one Donald Trump. THAT is for certain)
Remember during the 2008 campaign when, at one of his rallies, a bat-$hit crazy old lady starting going on and on about how Obama was a Muslim and McCain stopped her mid-sentence and corrected her. I believe he even said Obama was a “fine man” but that he disagreed with almost all Obama’s policies.
Can you even imagine that happening today?
He was an example of how all of our politicians should behave. The different parties may have different world views and policy ideas but we are all—as hard as it may be to accept—advocating for what we think is best for our families, friends, and shared country. We should be able to disagree without hating and demonizing the other side.
I hope and believe there are other people like John McCain out there on both sides of the political aisle. There is still hope. Thank you Senator John McCain for showing us all that the integrity this country was founded upon is still held dear by those trying to make a difference through politics.
A true gentleman and a patriot. RIP.
I can imagine that happening today. I can also imagine that politician loosing the election.
Politics is a well disguised insult contest. Democrats have known this for year. Some Republicans are finally catching on. McCain never caught on. So he just worked hand in glove with the Dems to keep reducing the people's freedom. Great man. Horrible politician. He's like the yin-yang opposite of Trump.

Another listener of the Tom Woods Show? The world could use a lot more Tom Woods (and a lot less warmongering by people like John McCain).
I kind of liked John McCain until he picked Sarah Palin and allowed Obama to win.
I will never second guess any of Senator McCain's political decisions, and I will always remember that the NY Times tried to smear his reputation and imply that he had an improper relationship with a female lobbyist when he ran for president. He was a man of incredible personal integrity who suffered serious physical and mental abuse at the hands of the North Vietnamese when he was a POW. He brought his integrity to the senate and always acted on it regardless of which political party it favored. Rest in peace John McCain, you earned it at a level that is incomprehensible to most civilians.
Yes, he was a great man. wrote:

When I think of John McCain, that's the first thing that comes to my mind. Here's a clip of that exchange, and a similar one that took place on that same evening.

Condolences to his family.
But he is why we need term limits.
You shouldn't say too many negative things about someone when they die, in respect for the family. However, public figures who seek publicity for themselves throughout their lives like McCain deserve an honest accounting of their lives not a sugar-coated gloss over he will likely get. McCain was a terrible Republican and a terrible politician. Never was a true conservative. All ego. All about seeking power and attention for himself. Maverick is another word for self-centered. His military service should be respected, but he used it as the centerpiece of his political career. Like President Trump I don't believe one should be called a war hero for being shot down. He was tortured and did sign some dubious document. Did he use his POW status as an advantage politically? Yes.
His record as a Senator was mostly about promoting himself for his disastrous Presidential run that brought about eight year's of Obama's reign of terror.
Glad he us out of suffering. Also, glad Governor of Arizona can appoint a strong conservative to fill his vacant spot in the senate. McCain should have retired years ago, pointing out that there needs to be term limits for Senators and Congressmen.
God be with his family in their loss.

Unfortunately there are certain people who work to convert an appreciation thread into a political one. Very small minded people.
As a former Republican (Reagan and Bush Sr), and then a Independent (Bush Jr and Clinton), and then a Democrat (Obama years), and now an Independent again (Trump/Clinton), McCain was the type of political I would support across all my personal political variations. It is all about compromising with the other side, even when you have total power.
A man most worthy of our respect. RIP John McCain.
Your the only tool here that seeks publicity for himself.
