Editor's note: If you click on the link and go to the comments, you'll after a fan asked if he'd be running the NY marathon, see Zane Robertson says, "New York marathon wants Americans, my Brother and I were denied entry ?"
All right. As an identical twin, I may have my first charity case.
How much does he want to run NYC? Should we crowd fund him? How cool would it be if we buy him a charity bib and crowd fund it his appearance fee with a lead donation by LRC?
I wan thim wearing the LRC singlet, however. We'll rip that puma logo off it and put adidas on it. Do we know if he's the younger or odler twin? If he's the younger twin, I'll agree to coach him as well.
Sure I'll donate too, but talk is cheap, get it going.
Also the best post on here was by the sub elite runner. I'm sure they could have gotten into the race but were not a fan of what they were being offered. Maybe it was just entry, lodging, travel, but no appearance fee OR maybe NYC said you have to pay your own way. They could put pride aside and run the race. If they finish well they get a payday that covers expenses and a guarantee that they'll return the following year with an appearance fee.
I would think NYC would find them attractive compared to the B and C level Americans they spend money on but US races are becoming less international and more domestic for better or for worse. There's some marketing to be done around the twins. The ESPN is filled with fluff pieces. The audience would probably love a three minute clip about a pair of white twins with accents running in Kenya.
