Seems like this is more related to people doing stupid things when they drink than the actual drinking itself.

Even taking population into account, I didn't realize Chinese bros parties so hard. But those crazy Russians...
I drink 4 drinks a night, my BMI is 27.84 and I have pre-hypertension.
I'll stop eating the cheeseburgers, pizza, whole milk and poptarts. As long as I have some coffee in the morning and beer at night, I'm good.
I have very little faith in "health experts" who profess to know anything about nutrition. Think about how different foods and products have shifted along the healthy / unhealthy spectrum in our lifetime. Doctors just have no clue. Keep everything in moderation, enjoy life, and don't listen to eggheads.
Fake news. Moving on.
Eat refined grains/carbohydrates. Here’s a helpful pyramid diagram to prove it.
Wait jk dont.
Eggs are bad cuz cholesterol.
Wait jk theyre good. Cholesterol is fine.
Fat is bad for you.
Wait jk it’s fine.
Drink bottled water out of a plastic bottle. It’s totally not Atlanta tap water lol.
(It is.)
Start your day off with a 1,000 calorie sugar coffee.
Yeah it’s fine.
Some great replies so far.
Bottom line: no amount of living is safe. Off yourself now and pre-empt the Ugly Inevitable!

Looks like one of the experts agrees, kind of:
"Spiegelhalter, who also was not involved in the research, said in a statement. "Come to think of it, there is no safe level of living, but nobody would recommend abstention."
Well I do!
Correct, you want to it whole unprocessed grains. And, it correctly says this in the nutritional guidelines. Which for the most part gave good advice. The problem is almost no Americans followed them. And in the 80s the low fat BS people just started to eat more sugary junk food, because Americans are gullible.
Wrong, the studies that show eggs aren't bad for cholesterol are fixed. That is because after a certain threshold of dietary cholesterol you can't increase cholesterol much more. But if you look at the studies done on people with low cholesterol just a few eggs dramatically increases cholesterol. Unless you are the 1 in 1000 people with a gene mutation where you have genetically low cholesterol no matter what you eat.
Well, that depends. If it is fat from whole unprocessed foods like the fat you get from eating whole nuts, than yes that is good for you. But, if it is the fat you get from deep fried foods than no, that is not good for you.
I hope everyone knows this.

Yeah, black coffee is good. Sugar from whole unprocessed foods is good for you. Processed sugar is bad for you.
I don't need alcohol. I get a buzz just by running fast. I was told that if I don't grab anybody and bring him down while I'm running, I'm fine.

"Keep everything in moderation" is the exact advice that nearly every doctor would give.
That's BS. Alcohol is proven to be good for relieving stress/anxiety, clearing the brain of unnecessary negative thoughts, and socializing.
"Seems like this is more related to people doing stupid things when they drink than the actual drinking itself."
Ergo, if people only do these "stupid things" as a result of drinking, then drinking is the catalyst for that bad behavior.
I did quick cross-reference of the countries with the highest rates of drinking and found many in the list of top 10 countries with the highest life expectancy.
So, Yes, I can only therefore conclude that definitely "NO AMOUNT OF ALCOHOL" is safe for consumption, and even moderate drinking will severely shorten your lifespan.

This is the problem a lot of people are having understand the study results. All it's saying is: alcohol can be bad for you, so don't have too much of it. A little bit is fine. Before this there was a school of thought that said having some alcohol was GOOD for you and people should do it. Turns out it's not, but it's fine in small amounts just like anything.
It's fun drinking booze.
Where did you find this terrible advice? Blogs? This is one of the worst rants I’ve come across on these messages boards.
There’s a study for every result.
So, live the way you want and find the study that says your lifestyle is the healthiest.

That's why we have something called meta analysis.
