Did NCAA ban Quigley from modelling whilst at Florida State, even though she was a working model prior to that?
Anyone?
Does/should NCAA have that much power to impact/negate someone's ability to earn income? Even when such abilities are outside of sports.
Would a child actor be banned from acting during college years, even as a walk-on athlete?
That NCAA bylaw called is something like - continuing non-athletic modeling and other promotional activities post enrollment---- has a lot of restrictions on athletic wear andmentioning the model is a NCAA athlete

Actually laughed out loud at this. Amazing. Post of the day.

Thanks. Good to know.

Actually steeple training can make you a better 1500 runner than simply 1500 training. Look at Jenny Simpson and Anna Willard early in their careers. Both were American record holders in the steeple who went sub 4 in the 1500 the year after.
That's your reasoning? I got a good laugh out of this one.
Does anyone who’s been following the DL standings closely know if she has a shot at getting into the final? I know she ran one ~9:20 this summer and finished somewhere in the middle of a DL race. She may be in PR shape in the steeple which is really impressive considering she not only missed a block of training in June but also missed out on a big chunk of training this past fall during base. I definitely think she can be on Coburn/frerichs’ level of she can stay healthy
According to the IAAF website lists for all Diamond League points earned, she isn't anywhere near the top 12, so won't be able to be in the steeple final (or any other) unfortunately. I agree, her race fitness right now is very good, and would be able to race it well. However, don't know her status for racing the steeple at this point, or what her injury was, so maybe better in the long run that she's racing on the flat. She should be a contender with the Fifth Ave. Mile if running it.

She's running a steeple in Berlin Next Sunday - BTC said as much yesterday.
Good win for Quigley but did anyone notice that the pacer from Belarus could have won the race? She kept gapping the field and looked fresh compared to the field when she peeled off at 1100m.

World Challenge ISTAF Meet Berlin 2 Sept?
Presumeably ISTAF Berlin.
Krause is supposed to try a new German/Euro record sub 9:10 there but she was sick with a cold in the last few days, so I don't know if she will be fit again. But there will be pace for 9:05-10 and probably a few fast Africans. Last year Tanui won before Krause.
Berlin also has a 1000m women on the schedule and I suspect that this could be another WR attempt by Semenya although nothing has been announced yet. (This event would be a very odd choice otherwise and Semenya ran the 600m there last year.)

Dearest Brojos,
Why did I get a message saying that LRC think I'm a spammer after reporting these comments?? LRC is a message board about running. Comments like this are sexist and they have no place here. Yet, I am a spammer for reporting them? I think you need some help at identifying spam.

Sorry, I thought I was on theChive.com. Different sense of humor there.
All the best to Miss Quigley.

WOOF
She was in Tempe AZ earlier this year and invited folks to run with her... Pretty cool chick. She is also wicked smart.
Good job.

She ran one DL race this year, Monaco. She finished 12th out 15, 20 seconds behind Frerichs. Since only the top 8 get points, she didn't get any.
Here's the list of qualifiers:
W: Hyvin Kiyeng (KEN), Beatrice Chepkoech (KEN), Emma Coburn (USA), Norah Jeruto (KEN), Celliphine Chepteek Chespol (KEN), Courtney Frerichs (USA), Daisy Jepkemei (KEN), Winfred Mutile Yavi (BRN), Aisha Praught (JAM), Roseline Chepngetich (KEN), Peruth Chemutai (UGA), Karoline Bjerkeli Grøvdal (NOR)

I think modeling banned Quigley from modeling. She might have showed promise as a sixteen year old, but she has since developed the jawline of Fabio.
As an update after last weekend.
T1269th all time in the 1500m.
83rd all time in the 3000m SC.
The available video is badly edited (and the audio is out of sync at the end). But Quigley absolutely crushed it.
