I had a policy that only the girls were allowed to go shirtless.

Do it anyways and when he attempts to punish you, have your parents step in and threaten to take it to the school board. It will shut down him down fast. Don't back down to a$$hole adults just because they hold a bit of authority. If they are in the wrong then they are in the wrong.
If your parents do step in, make sure they are educated in thermoregulation and heat stroke prevention. Have them demand the school pay for clothing and other measures to help prevent heat illness if the rule is going to stay in place. Likely the rule will disappear.

I have long hair (which I've been forced to cut multiple times if it passes the collar) and I could use the Jesus-argument there, as well.
Your school sucks, also reminds me of why I don't go to church anymore. A bunch of stuck up assholes.
I somewhat agree. Majority of kids at my school are good kids. Biggest problem I think is they can’t handle being told no. Always doing things with the thought that nobody will stop them.
The US has a lot in common with radical Islam: both love violence, but fear nudity or sex.
Fear of shirtless adults and kids is very common across the US, and lots of schools have this rule.
Easiest solution is to get used to it.
at least it applies to both genders. my high school would only let the boys run shirtless
So. A vest, when soaked with sweat, works to keep you cooler than running topless.
IDIOTS!!!!!
Update: I’ve committed to a DI school which is a big deal for the school’s athletic department because I’m their first DI commit in a decade and the last for at least another decade. My school is holding a special event for me on national signing day in about a week. I’ve specifically asked to not be in any pictures with the athletic director because I don’t want his image to be associated with successful athletes. If he asks why I don’t want to be in a pic with him, then I’ll use the same reasoning as he did for not letting me go shirtless.

Yeah! Fight tha man!
You must go to the same school as me. We have an a$$hole athletic director and a football coach that managed to ban shirtless running. Total BS! They also never win games and smell like sh!t in the hallways
