To me, bringing up the crime rates of legal and illegal groups are meaningless. So what if illegal immigrants as a whole commit less crimes than legalized citizens? That doesn't detract from the fact that this woman was killed by someone here illegally. Even if illegal immigrants were only responsible for 10 murders as a whole since the first one crossed the border illegally, no illegal immigrants would mean those 10 murders would've never happened. You can't presuppose that those murders would've occurred by legal citizens at some point anyway or some such nonsense. Regardless of the crime rates, the person not being here means the crime never happens to that person.
If you feel really strongly that all illegal immigrants shouldn't be here, you should do several things at a minimum:
1) Boycott goods which are produced by illegal immigrants
2) Make a lot of noise about your boycott and encourage everyone to join you. Don't just quietly stop buying certain products. Tell the store owner: "I'm not buying x any more. Please don't stock it any more, otherwise I might boycott you as well."
3) Argue and campaign for tough punishments for employers of illegal immigrants (big fines for companies and individuals, jail for senior individuals, ban from senior positions in future etc.)
4) Inform on any employer who uses illegal immigrants
5) Encourage Americans you know who are struggling to find jobs to offer to do jobs often done by immigrants
If as is more likely, you enjoy the benefits of immigrants, then you should take that into account. All consumers benefit from immigrants. A very small proportion of people are killed by immigrants. Similarly, all people benefit from motor vehicles - most people own a car so and can travel quickly. Everyone else benefits from the efficiency of other people and goods being transported quickly. A very small proportion of people are killed in car accidents. People don't rush to suggest banning cars because the benefits are obvious. They should be equally obvious in the case of immigrants.
