When someone reads this in ten years they will have no clue to the reference.
I don't get the reference either.

Anything cool at the garage sale?
I was going through stuff and found Faith Kipyegon's bib from World Cross Country. We should auction if off for a good cause on LetsRun. I don't even remember the story of how we got it in Uganda.
The Birmignham DL meet was underway and the first thing a dude bought was the big TV I was trying to watch it on. Never put a good price on the TV you are hoping to use during the day to entertain yourself.
2 people probably spent 80% of the total at the sale. They bough all the big stuff.
Highlight was for me was when I went out to my shed and found this giant fan. This was in middle of sale. Forgot it was out there. Went and hauled it to front year (most of the sale was in the house). 2 big dudes sitting in their car rolled down the window and asked if it was for sale. "Yes" Next thing I know a price of $5 has been agreed to. I'm putting it in their car and one guy gives me $5 and the other guy gives me five $1. They do this almost simultaneously. The guy with the fine ones then says, "keep it. It's worth $10". He appreciated I gave him a good deal. I appreciated him being appreciative.
One thing I'm not sure of is these guys were sitting in their car because I told them most of the sale was inside. They said they were handicapped by their weight. I told them a lot of stuff was on first floor. They stayed in car and their wife trucked in the house but I'm not sure how going into the first story of my house would have been any easier than trucking to the back of the yard where my garage is on a gravel driveway if the sale had been in the actual garage.
Also these complete strangers seemed genuinely excited for me to be moving to NY and getting married. One guy who had been married was wishing me luck and then I asked him what the key was and he got all serious and talked about how he didn't know this at first, but to genuinely really work with your wife and come to agreement on things as a unit.
And then my mom told me one of my neighbors told her I was a calming influence on the street and would be missed. I liked that. I love my street but I'm at the start of a cul-de-sac so I feel lime most of my interaction with the neighbors at the end is just a wave as they drive by when I'm in the yard. Maybe they appreciate that . Who knows.
