What Jakob did and how he ran to win showed racing wisdom beyond his years, but can we talk about how weak the fields always are at Euros? His latest DL performance was much more impressive than the euro double. Only one runner in either of those finals (spoiler it's Jakob) would ever sniff a WC or Olympic final. These were B-list small meet fields for the most part. Does anyone else feel this way.
Idiot!
These athletes assembled in Berlin were the best athletes in a whole continent!
And, get it into your stupid head, running for your country adds a level of pressure that doesn't exist in the Diamond League. Why we even talk about athletes who can shine in Diamond League type races but crumble under the pressure of a major championship.
Major championships have an extra layer of intensity and excitement that Diamond League races can't match.
