This run will be interesting, because right now I think I'd consider Mo Farah as the "Range King." He's run 3:28x2 and a 2:06 marathon. I think that's very hard to argue.
Seems to me a 208 and the sub 145 might be enough to convince me, which is admittedly worth absolutely nothing.
If Choge stays healthy next months he’ll be top five in Chicago. Possibly higher. Still an incredible athlete. Got injured after Portland 3000indoors 2016 otherwise most likely would have been a contender 10,000 in Rio.

IAAF database has Dixon's 800 best as 1:47.6.
It is the same guy yes, the one who also has the 3:30:07.
Now he is a coach and one of his junior athletes has run 3:47 in the 1500m. Sadly not in time to make the world championship.
He is an amazing person, really down to earth guy and is a sport icon in my country.
Is he the guy who Kipchoge said was the star of the future ? That will make Chicago something to look forward to now that WR attempts can pretty much be put on the backburner !

hardloper, I was pretty certain that the rui silva of 1500 fame and the rui silva of marathon note were two diff guys? maybe i'm mistaken but I recall threads about this that (to my recollection) clarified they were def diff dudes
There are two different portugues Rui Silva', yes. But the world class 1500m guy also has run a very fast Marathon:

Interesting. So Rui Silva is the only guy that has done this and ran a fast marathon. This would be the guy with the greatest range in my book.
Rui Silva range (from IAAF):

Well, Mo has a 2:06 marathon and a 3:28 high. It's a bit more impressive. Could have ran 1:44 for sure too.

I have significant respect for what Mohammed Farah has accomplished; no on Farah ever having sub-1:45 800m skills. No way Farah was ever capable of sub-1:46 800m. There is a reason Farah, 11th fastest 1500m runner, all-time never raced 1500m in W.C. or Olympics. Farah looked fast over final 700m versus 5000m/10000m runners. If Farah ever thought he had enough raw 200m speed to race jog & sprints in 1500m heats, Farah would have specialized in 1500m.

What happens if Mo runs 2:04 and Choge can't break 2:12?

Choge matches Mo all the way through the intermediate distances with equal PRs at 5000m and half marathon.
Choge all the way....he is worth a 2:08 or better in his first full marathon
Ian Stewart claims that he has clocked Mo in an 800m time trial at 1:45
But wait, Choge contradicts your moronic "tall Kenyan" theory - how can he be the range GOAT at a mere 5'4"?
