She did well when coached by Wales Dinan. She left because they fired him.
That's the point. If he just behaved appropriately, he'd still be working at Harvard and Judy wouldn't have transferred. Whether she hated him or loved him, it's his fault she's struggling now. Part of being a successful coach is not getting fired....should go without saying.
Seems like she likes him (PWD favored her so it makes sense that she'd like him back), but I don't think she understands that he likely messed up her long term development by chasing rapid short term gains. Even though she improved a lot under him, he probably really hurt her future potential.
