Leaves her coach, Edrick Floreal. Huge mistake, in my opinion. Why do top athletes do this?
Editor's Note: This comes from an interview with Ato Boldon. Boldon also talks about the significance of her signing with WME and says he thinks the days of the women's 400H world record "are numbered."

Really? She was great before Eldrick, he did not make her. She will be great without him. -

Yes, really. Switching rarely elicits positive results. Time will tell, I suppose. Though, I hope for the best. Precocious talents like her do not come around often. -
She seems to be a naturally pretty girl without the fake eyebrows and eyelashes.

She obviously doesn't like how she looks without touching up her eyebrows.

Helps if you spell her name right in the first place.

Clearly a troll if you can't even spell the person's name correctly -
In the interview, Ato also said that McLeod and "a few others" have also left Floreal's group. I wonder if this has to do with Floreal's new position at Texas, either the athletes do not wish to relocate to Texas OR Floreal wants to just focus on rebuilding the Texas program and won't be able to commit to more of his pros than he could at Kentucky. If there are that many people leaving his training group, I think it more has to do with the coach's relationship to all of his athletes rather than just a single coach-athlete relationship.

Yea, i think this is a bigger situation than just one athelte's relationship with the coach, but a culture ahift with how that coach works with pros. -
Can confirm that she left him a few weeks ago (maybe months at this point, can’t remember exactly)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most athletes (granted not all) work with a new coach once they turn pro?
I agree with others that Sydney will be great regardless. Another consideration for her might be the location. Also, Floreal might not have the capacity to coach a high profile athlete as he ramps up a new job at UT. -
No disrespect to Coach Flo, but in terms of technique,l Sydney is only marginally better than H.S. The only major difference I notice is Sydney being able to hurdle with her left leg, but she still runs high over the hurdles and she still chops. She still seems to be experimenting and for the most part, Sydney is great at the 400h because she is great at the 400 dash. In global championship races, athletes with poor technique tend to do worst.

Well, 400h races are tactical in major championships, so her "poor technique" probably won't be an issue if she runs near the WR! -

Aren't tactical is what I meant of course. -
Floreal is moving to Texas.
Does the millionaire chick have to move to Texas too? -

I'm dyslexic. When I'm tired, it comes out in spades. -

[sarcasm]DJT, is that you????[/sarcasm] -
Maybe she doesn't want to move to TX and I don't blame her! Flo isn't the only hurdles coach in the country and she clearly has her pick of coaches.

Is Norm Tate still coaching at Rowan U. in NJ ?
