Holy wow!
This is is simply amazing.
I do not know what it age grades into, but I put on flats, get a rolling start, and can will myself to a 18 second 100......at 58 years old.
This is just amazing.
Gault, interview THIS guy!
Is that the guy who ran 52 for 400 at age 60?
Charles has been setting records every time he moves into a new age group. I had the honor of finishing 2nd to him on one of his recent WRs and was on his 4x400 team when we broke the indoor WR back in February at the Armory in New York.
I'm struggling in my attempt to crack 60 in the 400m at age 48. This gives me hope to persist.
Guido Müller already had sub 60 in the bag for 70-74, I guess Allie lowered it a bit.
75-79 is still 62.xx by Guido. Will Allie still be that fast? Is the average LR poster anywhere near it?
I ran 59.0 back in 1984 as a 25 year old. I don't see myself as a threat to his records.
Amazing.
Masters running should be given at least as much coverage as the paralympics. Getting old happens to every one of us and these guys are an inspiration to us all. I'd like to see a Masters Olympics.
Would be so great to see the face of an ageist young punk like 'ex-runner' if a 70 year old like this dude came flying past him.
Here he is setting the American indoor 400m record a few months ago (60:52) :

What does that have to do with anything?
Would just be open to age cheating on the other extreme. Coevett will complain that Kenyans are cheating when they claim to be 50 but look 30 - same people who were 25 but claimed to be 18.
Check out his age 40 compared to age 70 PRs.
1988 age: 40 PR

Age 45-49 PR

I agree! This would just open up another can of worms on the opposite end of the spectrum. This is why I could care less about the World U20, U17, and Uanything age groups as they are too open to cheating.

This, and you might as well bring in an anabolic steroid pharmaceutical company as the title sponsor.

LOL, we can worry about that when they start breaking masters records. Also, there is no money in Masters, that's why Africans don't enter. And if they've ran in juniors they can't lie subsequently to make themselves older when it comes to Masters. Bernard Lagat, for example, may or may not be 42 or whatever, but not older. The problem with him (and other Kenyans that might continue on to Masters) is that he failed an EPO test, almost certainly doped himself silly with EPO at least when a senior and setting his crazy times, and it's been proven in two different studies that EPO has anti-aging properties.
Sprinting equivalent of the Almighty Ed Whitlock.
PEDs should be legal in age 60+ (maybe even 50+)

This guy shows that if you never quit training (and can avoid serious injury) you can maintain fantastic fitness all your life.
Kenya are sending a very strong although small team to the world master in Sep so to suggest they aren’t interested in masters athletics would be incorrect.

Just because you and your buddies take drugs doesn't mean that anyone else does.
I never have, and never will.
