The same goes for Arkansas, Idaho and West Virginia. You're either born there, are escaping the law, or have crashed out in business and/or life and have taken some kind of refugee status.
People w/ talent, class and luck end up in better locales, like California.
Just admit it.

Agree with your general point—except for Idaho. There are some really nice parts of Idaho if your into mountains / outdoors activities / trail running.
Here are the acceptable states to live in...CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, CO, MA, NY, VT, NH, HI, DC.
Everywhere else is a sh!thole state and, I agree people only live in sh!thole states because they have to do so for job or family reasons. No one really likes humid summers or harsh winters (caveat for winter is if you live in Ski country than there is a purpose for snow, if not snow is just a nuisance). Everyone defines a “nice day” the same way and people arguing they like weather we all know sucks is a defense mechanism used by people who are stuck in sh!thole states. -

Thanks for the correction Ed. For some reason I thought he lived in LA—maybe because he’s said that in past posts.
Anyway, how’s married life? How’d Lauren? -

I'm guessing that half the residents of the Ozarks have never been to the left side of their brain. -

Just got back from a midwest state. Everyone fat. Everyone ugly. No businesses worth visiting. Food sux. Everyone drives at glacial speed. Towns are dumps. No scenery. Smells like pig sh!t. Rivers are foaming with ag chemicals. Wind is relentless. Rains constantly, but not enough, or two much for everyone. Tornadoes pass near, destroying towns. Can't throw a rock without hitting a church, with a sign telling me I'm worthless. ALL anyone does is drink crappy beer, talk about the weather, and one football team or another.
It's like a bizarro world that's stuck in 1972 with a bunch of unhappy people, talking about unhappiness constantly. -

I'd add AZ and ME to that list. If you like outdoors, there sure are some nice places in both states. I would probably add Utah to that too. Some lovely scenery and tons of outdoor activities to partake in. I'd take out MA and NY. Having a big city is not enough reason. The rest of the state is pretty boring and the politics are over the top. -

Shut your mouth. Idaho is a total dump. Avoid at all costs.
