She will be 32 in one month and she improved her mile time today (second fastest American ever).
She has excelled for a very long time. Was 3rd at Foot Locker as a HS Junior. Had a stellar NCAA career...
That's a very long time to be at the top of your game and to keep improving.
Who knows, she may medal at WC next year.
Jenny Simpson still improving at age 32 (almost)

You're right. This should have been the year. Guess that she will wait until after the Olympics and call it a career as soon as she gets pregnant (if she wants children in the first place) -
She doesn’t want kids right now.

Jenny's definitely been under the radar this year in American mid-d action with all the spotlight on Houlihan. If it weren't for this year being Shelby's big coming-out party on the international scene, Jenny would have had another USA 1500m title, plus another sub-4 at Pre, American record in the 2 mile, a strong 8:30 clocking in Doha and a near-AR in the mile. Very impressive at age 32. I would love for her to nab Rowbury's 1500m AR later this summer before she's well past her prime and Houlihan is officially the new queen of the event during the next few years.

And you, don't give this post any serious thought. -
Slow aging is a genetic trait of the whole Simpson family. Hell, one of them has been a 10-year-old boy for 29 years.

The women in the Simpsons family turn out to be the smartest ones in their whole family.
If only I stuck with YouTube TV... I could have binged watch all the Simpsons episodes. But for $40/month? Nah... -

OJ doesn't look so great for his age and he retired young as a player. On the other hand he showed a gift for murder at middle age so maybe he could have excelled in that field. -
What I don’t like about Simpson is that she hasn’t quite capitalized her fitness except for medals(very impressive). What I mean, for instance, the season houlihan is having with the 1500, and she went after the 5k record and got it just like that. Yes Simpson got the 2 mile record, but why not the 5k? Why do athletes have to get old to “move up”. When she moves up she won’t have the leg speed to get after that 5k record. Especially now that houlihan dropped it down a few more seconds. Run some 800s early on, run the 1500 and 5k at two bigger meets and each time make it an AR attempt. Houlihan got the 5k, watch next time she runs a 1500, record attempt.

Mo Farah got his last track PB at age 33 (3000m) and he is famous for being a late bloomer.
Maybe Jenny will be the female Bernard Lagat -
OJ had a long career for a primary running back, 11 NFL seasons. Three seasons with 250+ carries wipes out most RBs.

I hear you and I love seeing athletes move up or down in events during non-championship years but I don’t think Jenny could get close to 14:34. I think she could have run 14:40 a couple years back but not now. -

Jenny has the best range:
800m 2:00.4
1500m 3:57.2
Mile 4:17.3
3000m 8:29.5
5000m 14:56
Steeple 9:12
Who has better range than that? -

I for one am glad she stuck to working on the 1500m tactics and occasional under distance to give her the opportunity to win those medals instead of chasing the 5k AR. -
Houlihan. Flanagan.

are you kidding me?
Dibaba, Kipyegon, Muir and Hassan blow that s h i t out of the water....only thing they have not done is the steeple. But jenny's time compared to theirs is very slow. -

Neither 2.00 nor 14.56 are even true international standard (unless you're running for the Marshall Islands). -
Never gonna catch the east africans
