Bayer definitely pacing.
Single file tow-line 600m in.
Pace looks steady per Larry Rawson's leg-turnover analysis.
1000m split: 2:37.26! Perfect!
On the international feed, they are talking about us. Saying people on the US messageboards are wondering how fast he can run.
How about saying our name??
63.51 for that lap to 2:37 at the 1k.

This has predictably devolved into a lot of people crying racist on the doping accusations. I’d just like to go on record as saying this is a huge problem in the sport and no event/athlete/country is immune. Some may have better testing regimes or less of a history of testing positive, but as we’ve seen with the TDF and else that can be misleading. But to sit here and not question some of the performances we’ve seen today is asinine (and yes, that includes both white and black athletes). You’ve got your head way in the sand if you think this is all on the up and up.
To be clear, many including myself, were accusing the defenders of the performances to be racist. "They don't dope because they're Norwegian (white)."

I honestly dont know what to think of the new WR 8:44.33. I guess wow, really!
She´s the first Kenyan woman I´ve seen with a good steeple technique.
Bayer best rabbit of the day so far?
Perfectly executed pacer step-off in the water pit
Bayer off the track now 3.30" in.
Bett taking over. Kipruto and Jager right behind.
3:43 with 4 laps to go.
Pace appears to be lagging ever so slightly.
Noah's progression has been pretty steady

5 seconds slow at 2k
2:08 for the last 800 so they are slowing down. Probably be like 5:21?? if ihad to guess.
Still Bett, Kipruto, Jager and El Bakkali in a tight pack.
1k to go - missed split b/c showing Pole Vault ughh
Basically that means one or maybe two can squeeze by around 7:59 with a push...

Jager taking the pace with 1k to go! 5:20!
I thought he was working on being more patient this year...
Not going to happen. Jager will run like 8:02. Fading :(
So they let us watch the last lap of the race. Thanks NBC

Figure it out.
He probably read the preview for his own race and decided if it came down to 8 flat pace with 1k to go, he needed to haul ass.
El Bakkali might get it though. Will be very very close.
