Anyone surprised? I think a good choice to not try Berlin again since pacers will be kipchoge’s choice. Is Amsterdam a fast course?

Last couple years the winner has been about 2:05
Is it possible that the major marathons did not invite him?

could be...his last decent result was 2017 in London. But if Amsterdam is a fast course, he wants a fast time more than anything.
He's ducking Rupp and Farah at Chicago!!!
I think it is actually a good idea. He had a good debut at Paris running 205 flat. He needs a win just for the mental aspect of it. I suspect he envisions the next showdown with Kipchoge to be Tokyo 2020, and he had better lay the ground work now.

I do as well. He also needs some fast times to make the Ethiopian team since that's what its based off of. Although now with Haile in charge, maybe might help his case if he doesn't have the fastest time that year.
Think he'll do the WC marathons next year or a waste of time? Sounded as if Mo will be doing them
AMERICAN RECORD.
Of course he'll get the AR, why wouldn't he?
Other than Banana Bread jumping out in front of him for for a selfie at Mile 24, that is....

Agreed. Might be just angle but looks slim in the face compared with last couple years
I am literally excited as fuk to see Bekele in Amsterdam. Let the dopers run Chicago and Berlin. Amsterdam is a more interesting place. I would like to see him at least get the course record in Amsterdam. He should easily run 2:04 if he isn't going for a WR there(might do it in Dubai next year). Bekele always was the greatest runner. I dream about seen him in the red light district and been on a gondola with him on the canal.
Hope he finishes this time.....

Judging by the size of that left quad it's definitely the angle.

I think Dubai is a bit close considering this is October don't you think?
