"Could of bekele broken the 3000m and 2 mile WR’s? "
Go back and read what you wrote. Bekele could OF never done anything. What is the present tense of "of done"?
He did.
He has done.
He could have done.
He will do.
Nobody ever OF done anything.

He didn’t complete specific training to aid his Personal bests below 5000m! His training was based around strength and his 10,000m. With the proper training for shorter distances could of bekele run 3.27 for 1500m and ultimately improved his 3000 and 5000 times with his new found speed?

3:27 = No.
Improved 3000 time = Yes
You can only train for so many events; if he had trained more for shorter distances, it would have certainly been at the expense of the 10000.
Btw, retired athletes or in the twilight of their career always think they could have done more.

Hi Banana Bread?
I'm friends with KB on Untappd.
He drinks mostly shelf turds but occasionally has a real nice Hudson Valley IPA. Never takes a picture so not sure if he's just making stuff up.
As we have come to expect from Kenenisa, he is disgustingly epic here as well. I mean that as 100% compliment.
To the question about his 400m, 800m, and 1500m bests, his response was basically, "Yeah, in 5k training I've done 49, 1:48, and 3:32 in some workouts. I didn't train for them, it was just part of workouts. It's like, I guess, whatev, not that big of deal."
As a side point, note also that he said he does (or at least did at the time) doubles EVERY DAY, and 100+ miles per week. This should be the only endorsement of doubles and 100mpw that anyone ever needs. Nail the coffin shut on that discussion, as the expression goes, because if Kenenisa did it, you'd better be doing it too.

There's no way an athlete of Kenenisa's calibre would go for grapefruit soda when he has other choices available.

That he never gave shorter distances a try is wrong, no matter what he says afterwards. In 2007 he tried to go for it in the 3000m, but lost a lot of his endurance. He had to drop out of the world cross (blaming the heat) and he only won the 10000 wc by a narrow margin.
In the Memorial Van Damme later that fall he "only" managed a 26,46.
He ran 7:25 that season in Stockholm (also a 7:26 in sheffield) with a 2:30 first 1000. Definitely could have gone faster than that but he never really went for it again after that. Plus we don’t know if he was even going for the world record there. However, that was also the season he ran 3:32.

Your right when you infer the OP should of written that differently.

7:25 or 26 is an average of about 2:28.5.
So you can see - 2:30 is not a slow first k but just in time for someone of his potential (too slow for the world record though).
However, he had several years in peak shape, ran some times below 7:30 but did not come really close to the world record. But nobody can tell me "he did not even try". I bet everytime when he heard the first few lap times and it was not too far away, he had the possibility of a WR in mind...

...and this is one of the things that made Kenenisa so great. Maybe not a WR, but he was determined that he would make a fast time -- whether the pacers came through for him or not. Too much reliance on pacers these days.

That video you're referencing was filmed in 2010, NOT the twilight of his career.
I think he was going for a fast time in those races...but not the WR. Look at the splits. There are lap times of 62 in both of his attempts. Compare that with Komen (200 & 600m split may be off a bit) and if he was actually going for it you wouldn't see lap times so slow at the start
Bekele 7:26.69 Bekele 7:25.79 Komen WR 7:20.69
200m : 28.25 28.1 29.13
600m : 60.06 60.12 57.5
1,000m : 61.29 61.23 59.26
1,400m : 61.92 62.2 57.66
1,800m : 60.95 59.09 59.91
2,200m : 58.84 59.05 58.37
2,600m : 58.35 60.07 59.75
3,000m: 57.08 56.04 59.09
1st km = 2:29.57 2:29.45 2:25.89
2nd km = 2:33.15 2:30.43 2:27.29
3rd km = 2:23.99 2:25.92 2:27.49

Doubtful. The grammar and spelling is horrible ("could of??"), but not quite as bad as Banana Bread's posts. Additionally, Banana Bread doesn't tend to postulate with reasoning nearly as clearly as the above example. He is a little more mentally challenged, which is another issue altogether.
You people can bully me all you want. It doesn't effect me. No I didn't create the thread but I did enjoy the thread(until trolls came along and started bullying me). When I get bullied here, I close my eyes, and imagine I'm in a bar somewhere having drinks with Bekele and laughing at trolls here.

That sounds like a gread evening.
There should be a new thread: If you could have drinks & chill with any 3 athletes, who'd it be? I'd choose Kenenisa Bekele, Molly Huddle, and Christian Taylor. I know that's kind of a motley bunch, but they're my favorites.
