Closer to 300 than 350. Maybe your vision is obscured by the EPO fumes coming out of El G's ass?
And you trolls stop lying about this being the 20th anniversary of the 1500m WR. The third anniversary of Nick Willis running 3:29.66 - shaving just 1/100th off of Crammy's mark that had stood for 30 years - takes place on Tuesday.
Say what you want about doping but this was a HUGELY EXCITING time in track with distance records getting smashed right and left, racing drama, El G, Geb, Komen, Tergat, Kipketer.

Really ironic that you make that comment and then 'as proof' post a video showing a near empty stadium.

My default position is to disregard all major distance performances from about 1990-ish to 2004-ish. What an unbelievable joke and it drives me nuts when people praise or analyze performances in that window as though they are real.
I mean, I agree, but why stop at 2004? Things have gotten WORSE since then. Bekele, Kipchoge, Dibaba sisters, Centro, tons of random 2:04 'thon guys. Doping is everywhere.

You are never funny. Africans are faster than your white heros, doped or not. Deal with it.
A lot of letsrunners don't think El G was clean.

Record was set 14/7/98 so 20 years from now

The only good thing about that WR is it had Ovett commentating on it live.
The Kenyan pacemakers only dropped out after 1400m. Back then, even pacemakers could go for 1400m at 3:26 pace.
Even if El G was clean, none of his times would have been possible without doped up training partners and pacemakers.
I have vid with Cram commenting, I should post it to youtube (maybe someone else has).
El G = cheat
No one has run faster than 3:27 clean, maybe not faster than 3:28 clean.
Maybe even 3:29 clean. ?

I hope that was kinda obvious. Did you ride the short bus to school? He came from one of the dirtiest countries in the world. He dominated the epo era. Than as soon as half descent testing came about he retired.

Just give me a young USA-runner capable of 45- low 46 in the 400 ( body built like a miler/1500) and I will make him fly 3.24-3.25 over 1500 m in less than five years. And all done in a natural way without doping.
Well...then, just get on over to the States and start recruiting some young talent for your experiment.
I still love watching this race...LONG LIVE THE KING OF THE MILE!!

Hahaha, you are hilarious. You really don't care if your African heroes doped or not, do you? I guess you think it's justified as a form of payback for African slavery or some such.

Crammy's lasted for 30 years until Willis broke it on the Monaco track (by 1/100th of a second).
Is Cram's record the longest lasting in athletics? I guess it depends if you think Kipketer and Rudisha were/are dirty. I think Kipketer was doped, but I still like to think Rudisha was clean. If that's the case, Rudisha broke Coe's record after 29 years? But here's the complicating thing - Coe was already the world record holder since 1979. So there is an argument that Coe just pips Crammy as the longest reigning world record holder.
Sports are entertainment. Fast times make track more entertaining. As long as they all race the same distance who cares about what they put in their body.

Out of all the sub 3:30s, I think Willis is the most likely to be clean. However, I would bet money that there’s at least one person faster than Willis who was clean. Who that person is, I have no idea. I discount el G and Kiprops times and there is a very strong argument against Lagat. What about kiplagat? What do you think about him?
I, along with many others on this site disagree with your views on Kenyans. However, I want to ask you about something else. In another thread, phantasy star claimed that the girl who won the 3k at world juniors could run 3:53, way faster than Houlihan, Muir, Hassan, kipyegon, etc. what do you think about that claim?

Well…..so far I have coached from a distance online and it works very good with ten international winners in just three years coaching. And you never know, maybe one of your young 45-low 46 guys at 400m will read this and would like to take on the challenge instead of staying in unknown group of runners. If you are that runner I talk about just contact me at :
