Can't wait for a real tournament like the continental cup in sept. They should scrap this joke of a so called 'world cup'.

USATF CEO will probably get 25% of the winnings.. The USA athletes will get screwed again...
Here's another point... how much will the agent's get? How do the agent's get ANY money from this meet, or any other national or international championship? The agent's have literally zero to do with these meets.
It's most often the coach that is getting screwed the hardest.
I was there for both nights.
First, the majority of the stadium, like 99.5% were British. It's hard to get into a team competition when so many countries weren't represented in the stands.
Just like Worlds in 2017 which I attended as well, the production was first rate.
I hated seeing empty lanes. There were scratches that shouldn't have happened. I think the field needs to be doubled to 2 athletes per nation.
This isn't a Developmental meet. It felt like that at times especially knowing that some fields were so lacking in depth.
This meet was very busy at times with sometimes 3 field events going concurrently and then field events sharing the limelight with the track. This was a blessing and a curse but one I can live with as the average fan needs that stimulation and brevity.
This meet needs more distance events and more relays. I would take an SMR or DMR over a 4x800 to share the love.
There was no climax. They let the Javelin play out on Sunday night so all the attention could be on the 4x400's. A great opportunity to muster all that build up and pass on to the audience what needed to play out in the team scoring. Yes, a foregone conclusion the USA was going to lift the platinum trophy, but there was also bragging rights on the line further down the list. I will say that the British fans were extremely knowledgeable, and, almost too gentlemanly for my taste. I longed for a Champs or World type atmosphere at times.
Going forward, to make this work, athletes and fans will need to buy into why they want to attend for the next iteration. In this case, it was London on a busy weekend. World Cup, Summer in the Park, Wimbledon, England vs India at Lords, Rabat on Friday night and the cards were somewhat stacked.
With Muller as the official/title sponsor, the organisers will be hard pressed to show them a return on their investment.
Lastly, we paid some premium prices for the tickets. There's probably a good logistical reason, but why was the Team Trophy presentation held at the North end of the stadium, and not at the 50m line on the homestraight?
I wish I could compare this to the World Relays for feel and execution but unfortunately I haven't attended in the past. For those that have, is there any comparison?
Typical American way of doing things. Whenever we cannot measure up to what the world does, we come up with something new where we can win. However, in time the world will see what we are doing and catch up and like usual, beat us.

Why is there this tacit assumption that America has to be the best at everything ?
