The north end has been made to be street level so the concerns about swirling winds will be less and so the locals who were complaining it was becoming a walled garden will be able to look in. Tower is moved over as well.

i mean it is slightly better with the opening now.....
just kinda looks like a generic version of 1997's vision of the future though. -
So if that's a 12,000 stadium, how do we get to 30,000 with Worlds. That's what I want to see
Obviously on the open end they can put a TON of portable seats and I wonder if that is why they moved the torch looking thing. The Torch would have blocked the portable seats.
Or willwe have seats like this on the other sides: https://twitter.com/confortistefano/status/912967675621593088 -

VIP lawn chair seating atop the plastic AirMax looking shield thing around the top -

Oops . I never read the press release which says that is why they moved the torch: "This design will make it easier to accommodate temporary seating for large events, such as Oregon21, up to about 30,000. The updated design means that temporary seating will be closer to athletes and stadium activities." -
I don't understand how the torch is blocking fewer portable seats now...
-
That roof barely covers any seats. Did Nike cut a deal with God for no rain on meet days?
-
Is it true that during non-use hours the field will house the extremely large Eugene vagrant homeless population?
If so, the administration might want to reconsider this because one of the student athletes might inadvertently pick up hepatitis or another unfortunate disease caused by stray needles and human feces on the field.
What's more important, protecting young Ducks or coddling and enabling the mentally ill and those who choose to be societies bottom feeders?

That's the Bowerman Towerman.

The real track and field fans will be in the luxury suites, duh. -
I still don't get how they will get to 30k. Even if they could fit 10k temporary seats there (which I doubt without it looking absurd) that's only 22.5k.
Could they take the roof off the current seats and install temporary seats on top? -

The original design said there would be removable seats within the structure. Not just temporary stands like previously. I assume it’s the same with this design. Which still makes me question how it won’t feel super empty at every other meet besides Worlds... -
Guys, it's IAAF we're talking about on that seat requirement. 30K actually means "20K give or take". Someone got paid to make sure the seat counting was sloppy. I'm guessing that the fire code allows 10K to be in the concourses and on the walkway in the north end of the stadium. Call it "Standing Room" and you hit the magic number!
It looks like the north end will have the removable seats near the track and some temp bleachers will be erected on the upper portion of the bowl in that end. The old stadium had a few seats in Powell Plaza but the rest of the north end was just banners, a video board, and camera platforms for big meets. -

Relax. It's an architectural rendering..not the finished product. -

do 30,000 people actually go to worlds for a single event?
Seems like keeping the capacity low will make the stadium vibe feel better versus a bunch of empty seats. -
Looks crappy generic. They should have included the old stands or at least the old shape in the new design. Simple enough to do it.
