"Easily dispatches international field."
He won by .07s. That is close enough to require a photo finish to be sure who won. At that pace, it would be a win of about 15 inches. -

OP is correct. Very chill and controlled win. -

Not true at all. You can absolutely tell someone won by that margin without a photo finish. That’s if it’s by like .01. Sounds like you’ve never watched sprints before. -
Glad to see his kick is back... closed like a train.

He needs to start winning if he's going to pay for the upcoming wedding.
Just think how fast he'll be once he and Arianna consummate their marriage vows.
Hopefully, she can get her speed back now that she's has him locked up.

This.
He "easily dispatched" the second-placer ... by 0.07s, less than the front-to-back thickness of a runner's chest??
Meanwhile, third, fouth and fifth were just another 0.11, 0.02 and 0.26 behind one another in succession.
Top four within 0.20 is not "easily dispatched" or a "chill win." It is called a blanket finish. Look at the photos.
Also, 1:46 in July is a joke on the world stage, enough to barely win against a third-tier field but not enough to register when multiple guys are hitting repeated 1:44s in May-June.
Don't say he was "just going hard enough to win" when he only won by 0.07 and could just as easily have lost. He was obviously flat-out for this, or he wouldn't have left it to a photo-finish. -

"Third-tier" field? The guys in 2th-4th have run 1:42 (Olympic finalist), 1:44, and 1:43. You're either ignorant or just a tool. If you really say that 0.07 is a "photo finish" now I know you're just a tool. -
Though you’re probably merely a troll, I’ll take the bait and help you understand.
The finish time is dictated by the way the race played out and the race plan he enacted. No one went with the pacer and he stayed behind in way seemed to be a predetermined tactic. He moved for the front late in the race and was able to track down, and hold off, the other competitors. I don’t think it was a breeze of a win, but the time says nothing and means very little.

HAHAHA none of them have done ANYTHING since 2016.
Nice try, though.
Also, you have clearly never operated a timing system. -

"Merely" a troll? LOL what does that even mean? As opposed to an expert such as yourself, Clayton's mom?
Obviously a slow race is a slow race, and he sat rather than dictating the pace. Fine. Why are you wasting time making statements about that? I am not saying he looks done because he didn't run 1:44 or 1:45 solo. I am talking about his mediocre closing 100 in a 1:46 race, which was BARELY enough to win.
If he had any more ability in reserve, HE WOULD HAVE RUN FASTER FOR THE FINAL 100 and not left it to a photo finish. (All finishes are technically photo finishes, but of course when two runners aren't even a foot apart it is necessary.) He was flat out for this, and that is a bad sign because it wasn't an impressive close.
Running down has-beens that he sat on for 600-700m is not impressive. -

Because I tell it like it is? Because I treat this like an actual professional sport and not a fanboy festival?
