Since I've anointed myself as the leader of the Healy, who has PBs of 2:02, 4:09, and 9:10, bandwagon (I started a thread on her a few weeks ago when she ran 4:09), let me give you an update on Healy who appears to be the real deal - with both great speed and endurance. Today at the European U18s, she destroyed everyone in the women's 3k and won in a championships record of 9:18..
Update: She's also woon the 1500 in a championship record of 4:18.

Ireland's Sarah Healy lives up to the hype and wins double European U18 gold in 3k & 1500 - both in CRs

Didn't Tuohy run a 9:05 earlier this year? Jeez, she would have crushed this field and the CR.

Yeah Bit tuohy is probably on 2-3 times the weekly milage. We all know the american way -
Healy went to the meet planning on only doing the 1500. She decided to double and is now the first Irish gold medallist ever at the European U18s.

Thanks for sharing. You are very knowledgeable.
In the future, please note that it is okay to admire the results of one person without comparing them to another. It is also okay to stay on topic when responding to a post. I would even say that staying on topic is preferred.
Thanks again. -
Thanks for putting this performance into perspective. Small town happenings aren't interesting in themselves.

Katelyn Tuohy is better

Relax dude this is my first time replying to this thread. I’m just pointing out that there’s no reason for a thread to be made about this girl for a (relatively) mediocre accomplishment. Great, she beat some girls and ran an ok time. When she runs sub-9 for 3K get back to me. -
Sarah Healy is very impressive. Physically she doesn't look as if she has an advantage over the other girls - it looks like she hasn't hit the gym yet and she's not particularly tall. So, I'd say a lot of her advantage is pure talent rather than physically maturing earlier than other girls.
This was just her 2nd race at 3000 and both times she has just raced for the win (here in Gyor she has the 1500 final still to come). Clearly she could go significantly faster at the moment, 8:55 perhaps?
With 2:02 & 4:09 at the shorter distances maybe they're her better distances though. -

Not sure how "mediocre" she is. Her 800, 1500 and 3000 times would rank top 10 US HS all time. No, she is not Cain or Efraimson or even Tuohy perhaps, but her early performances are excellent and we can wish that she will continue to improve in the future. -
Just to put things into perspective for Sarah Healy, she only trains for athletics 3 times a week and plays field hockey for school and club 3-4 days a week.
-
She has completed the double. She won the 1500 in a CR of 4:18.72.

What fantastic, super-efficient form she's got. Almost Muir-esque.

A Healy v. Tuohy matchup over 1500 would be stellar, based on that race. -
The post-finish picture of Healy that you guys put on the front page could become iconic.

She started doing light gym work for the first time this season, is still not full time runner (only trains about 30 mpw and does a few sports)
