So what's the final ruling on all of this? Just one dq?
This reminds me of where Haile Geb was in a race and he literally got punched in a head at the finishing straight. Of course you would never imagine Geb attacking back at anyone. Things are different now. We won't see these new runners be like Geb or Bekele.

Comingto the final 200, the two studs were battling it out. Kejecha had the lead but Barega was right on him and then this happened.
Wow.
Update: The IAAF has released an official video:

I'm wearing half-tights from now on...
Strange how Barega appears to be smiling when grabbing K at the end; probably just his angry face. Would love to see a closer view of Barega’s face, and interviews with the other elites looking on. Thanks for the coverage!
I didn't say it was the most exciting, I said this was hyped up as being the most memorable of the year. What sets me off is the sad state of the sport. I want to see it grow, not dwindle into oblivion.
I suggest getting rid of every even over the mile, as they are incredibly boring. I suggest taking wresting under our arms and make it a track and field event now that its not in the olympics otherwise (think of a multi-event thats the mile run, top 2 then wrestle at the finish line to determine first place!). Let's make this sport exciting and not boring by these dumb 5k 10k and steeple chases on a track. Add some obstacle races on the infield, american ninja warrior or spartan race style, and eliminate the throwing events outside the decathlon. Realy races where if you don't have the baton you get to block or tackle other teams runners (say if you are the first leg of the 4x4, after you hand off you have free reign to interfere with legs 2-4). Do all that and make it classy and these dumb little 5ks and cat fights will be a thing of the past.

Here is the 'almost fight'. Anyone have an idea what Barega is trying to show him?
Ironically, while I know Kejelcha was DQd, I feel the worst for him. He got zero money after being clipped from behind. Barega still got 2nd place dough.
Is there footage showing him getting clipped from behind? If so, why wasn't Barega disqualified?
Was Kejelcha really clipped from behind??
The IAAF video starts too late to be very useful, but it looks like Kejelcha is on the inside and gets tripped up. Was he passing on the inside, or being passed to closely by Barega from the outisde??
This is a good example of how the idiots at Nike need to STOP dressing all of the athletes identically. WTF.
Looks like he got close but he wasn't disqualified.
His English is not too shabby.

Definitely better than my Amharic.
We merged the two threads on this topic into 1.

What kind of filter takes three photos of the same guy an makes them in to one photo? That is pretty cool.

Too funny!
To me, it was Kejelcha that probably clipped Barega with his long backkick. Barega never broke stride. As for Kejelcha claiming he was going down and had to grab something to ease his fall, it's a bs excuse for me. In the short video, Kejelcha grabs Barega as he' s pulling away and goes down because he looses his balance. He wasn't in the process of going down to my eye. He grabbed him because he was angry. Kejelcha is not an experienced front runner. Barega has much more experience in leading and winning races. Kejelcha's actions are those of a tiring runner. He would have been outkicked by Barega imo.

Are you usually this stupid or is this just a "right now" sort of thing?
Damn, those legs!

Agreed, it appears that the right thing to do was DQ Kejelcha. However, he shouldn't be ostracized. He was in the heat of the moment and wanted more than anything in that moment to stay on his feet to finish the race. He didn't have time to think, just wanted to do anything to say on his feet, and the last thing he intended to do was bring Barega down. Any logical decent person would understand, and forgive him for this.
What are the white lines on Barega's legs?
The video and every replay somehow misses the most important part of why he lost his balance in the first place... did he step on the rail? contact from the other guy? If there was a foul that started that whole fiasco then it would be sorta important to know! rather than to just keep showing the falling down reaching for the other guy's shorts part which we don't need slow motion to understand what happened there.
